There will always be hits and misses thru the draft. Luck...Adrian Peterson. Stupidity...I run fast but can't catch a pass Williamson...You come up with way more special-teamers than starters after the third round. The bottom line with this team is: We have a defense that could help us win a Super Bowl. We have a running game that could help us win a Super Bowl. We are lacking a quarterback and another big-play receiver. And until we solve those problems we likely won't go past the first round. And by the time we do, Brad Childress will be gone, and the defense will be past its prime.

If the Vikings don't make a good run at the Super Bowl this year it should be time for Ziggy to escort Chilly back to Philly and get a new sheriff in town.

It takes not only talent in the NFL, but the right talent that fits a particular offensive scheme to be effective. The purple went from a single-back, man-to-man blocking, vertical-passing offensive scheme under Tice to a zone-blocking, west-coast offense under Childress. Why would you expect Klink, or any NFL coach, to be successful in their first year coaching a team that had changed as drastically as the Vikings did?
Thus, if your pining to have Chilly fired you better pray Wilf hires another west coast guy. If he gets someone like Tice or Green as coach the talents of individuals like Peterson will be really wasted on another 2-3 year rebuilding period.
Lastly, the current Vikings might not be exciting (I still can't see how an electrifying star like AD can't put people in the seats) but they are a decent offensive team. If you look at points scored per game, which is where the buck stops, they were 12th in the league last year (23.7 pts/game).
Avant, why would you not fault childress for stupidly not putting in the team concept that fits his players? Isn't that the epitome of arrogance in an nfl coach? he felt he was the deciding factor in w-l record & stated if vikes didn't win 10 his first year, he should be fired.

now, we still have a one back offense, we still have a vertical threat, and we still have an o-line much better suited to power blocking (it's not called man to man, that's coverage & i can see your confusion with the term zone blocking.)

Mckinney, power
Hutch, power
herrara, power
c - open
rt - open
berrian, vertical
WR2-open
slot-open
AD - you don't think he'd fill RS's shoes from denny's era?

The only player one could argue would suffer in a vertical game would be jackson. But the rest of us are already suffering. He can't win games against meaningful opponents who have something on the line. Steelers, loss, ravens, loss, green bay, loss, philly, loss. Heck, that might even be in order.

Scatalogical jokes. I'm glad you are still in character. Being in character does not make you a character, don't forget that. Yet, jokes like this also make you a symptom of the Obama society.....low education, no manners, anything goes.... the American Idle Society......

In the near future, everyone will have thier 15 seconds on youtube. 873kb of crap that sums up society's failure.

You keep telling yourself that. I sure hope you're still around at the end of the season. But I'm sure you won't be like most of the cowards who don't come back when they're wrong.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Pisces

Someone is extremely headstrong and defiant today, and there's every chance that you're the one fitting this description. The more others are trying to make you behave yourself or do what they want, the more determined you'll be to do the exact opposite. Well, it is a Full Moon, and a lunar eclipse in emotional Cancer, so you're excused! Show them that you're an individual in your own right without going completely overboard about it, because that will cause trouble. Then once you've got all that off your chest you can relax and look forward to a really Happy New Year!
