Oh, just file a lawsuit saying the NFL is somehow breaking the law. It doesn't matter if it is true or not, just file and you can keep your $5000 for a few years while it winds its way through court.

I have to say as much as I enjoy watching the games. I think the NFL is becomming a bunch of sissy's. I watched the play and saw nothing wrong. I have to admit they gave the Ram's a few calls that were wrong. What happened to the game of Football? When did it become a "SAFE" sport? Pretty soon all the defenders are gonna be able to do is point and say " I got you...don't run anymore or I'll cry".

no , that was a pure cheap shot .... and the Ram player was placed on IR which means he is done for the year .... the pass was well out of Favres hand and the defender was heading the other direction downfield when Hicks gave him the cheap shot .... he should be fined more than that ... try 50,000 .... who is Hicks trying to fool with the lame excuse and then to APPEAL .... talk about an IDIOT .... and a cheap shot IDIOT at that

Hicks is a street brawler, the kind of guy you need on that O-line as the enforcer.

I saw the play and immediately called it dirty. He can say whatever he likes but he knows he was dirty. He has to say the right things to the media and will appreal because it costs him nothing to do so but he should be ashamed of himself.

I hope Hicks is successful on his appeal. I heard the commentator call it "cheap" too; I disagree. It was a perfectly legal block against a player who wasn't quitting on the play, and for all Hicks knew, could still have made a difference for the Rams. What it was was football. No one intentionally injures another; but stuff happens. Hey, remember the fools who injured themselves celebrating touchdowns? Let 'em play, Mr. commissioner. Skol Vikings.

While the push may have been unnecessary, as the ball was out of Favre's hand, the defensive player had turned downfield to pursue the play..... so in my mind, he was fair game. The push was neither violent, or late. I think this play is different than when Jared Allen got chopped last year, in that Allen got hit on the knee and this guy just got pushed off balance, and fell awkwardly. I honestly don't think it merited either a penalty, or a fine.

so by your HOMER scenario it would be a clipping penalty also besides a flagrant unsportsmen like conduct that it should have also been.... you can't block from behind buddy .... fair game would be when he's manned up face to face with the player ... not the little cheap shove from behind well after the qb has released the ball

for starters it was a shove in the back , late, cheap and blatant , very ILLEGAL.... it should have at the very least been a clipping / block in the back ....the Ram player(a fat defensive lineman)could still have made a difference in the play you say ??.... well, the play was about 40 yards downfield you IDIOT .... yeah , he was gonna make a difference ... same HOMER NON-SENSE....really observant

Why was he turning to run down field? Because he was still in the play and was looking for somebody to hit, but he got hit instead. If he didn't want to get hit maybe he should have laid down or quit running after somebody like Favre did. Maybe he was looking for Favre.

Was the poor feller going from Herrera's block to tackle the receiver, line up for the next play or pat Rice on the bottomside and congratulate him on a fine catch? Could Hicks know? Questions all you wusses should ask yourself

CLULESS .... the defender basically turned to observe the end of the play .... which was about 40 yards downfield & near the goal line.... it is still blocking in the back no matter what the intentions of the defender were...GOD ,can you help some of these people see the light .... i know it's asking alot but there is some serious help needed

Even as a Vikings fan, that play was dirty. The defender had no chance of being involved in the play anymore, had turned around, and Hicks had no reason to push him.

I feel bad for the Rams player. His season is over and you never know when you'll get another shot in the NFL. I really hate plays like this.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Leo

Perhaps it's the fact that it's Christmas Eve and everyone is busy, but you can't help feeling that you're walking on eggshells around certain people. Their emotions are very close to the surface and could erupt at a moment's notice, perhaps in a storm of tears or a fit of pique. Calm them down and ask if you can do anything to help.
