Players talk about it all the time: "Colts football. Gotta play Colts football." Can't pull it in: Tight end Dallas Clark fails to get a grasp on a fourth-down pass on the Colts' final possession of the game as ...

I really wish the Patriots were playing the Colts next weekend in a rematch of last year's AFC Championship Game. In spite of what happenned today, I still think the Colts would have been the Pats most worthy and dangerous adversary, and it would've been a great game.

I don't. I want to see the patriots play the best team. Obviously the Chargers are a better team than the Colts.

The Chargers were the best team yesterday. That's about it.

and since that is the only chance a team gets to prove who is better? then that is enough.

2007 Chargers are a better team than the 2007 Colts.

No question.

The football gods spoke and punished the Colts for chucking the last game of the regular season when it had meaning for the Titans and the Browns. See the teams that played hard -- Patriots, Giants, Packers -- keep moving on. Those that sold out -- Colts and Cowboys -- see ya next year. The football gods never forget!

seriously. The karma of "collusiongate" came calling. Small consolation to the Browns.. but hey it is at least something.

no pass rush = no win ... when you give any QB that amount of time it's going to bite you in the arse. Rivers is a good QB ... the Colts made him look an all-pro.

If you played to win vs the Titans, your effort vs SD would have been better. I believe you would have won.
Playing safe made the key players rusty, out of sync and it was very apparent in the SD game.
Next time, every time, play to win.

I'm beginning to think that there is some truth to what you are saying. Our history speaks for itself.

We charger fans know how you colts fans are feeling from our game last year. It was a great battle, one for the ages. Stay classy colts fans and cheer for us against the patriot. It had to be one of us to try and spoil their season. Respect to you guys.

Go chargers.

It was a good game to watch on TV -- score kept changing hands. However, I agree with the writer that Indy played it safe, and yes, I was biting my nails watching Manning freak out at the end about the clock running --(time out -- anyone hear of "time out" ??).

Next week will be a real challenge for the thin-skinned Californians who enjoy good weather (remember the Oakland team that was devastated by the snows in NE during the playoffs a few years ago?). Although my money is on the Patriots, my heart belongs to the Chargers.

I AM FED UP WITH THE WAY COLTS PLAYED. I SPENT SEVERAL HOURS LAST NIGHT GETTING RID OF ALL MY COLTS JUNK AND BURNT MOST OF IT. THEY NEED TO GO BACK WHERE THEY CAME FROM. WHAT A BUNCH OF LOSERS. GO GREEN BAY!

No one should be surprised by the play of the defense. The Colts defensive numbers were largely a product of a pathetic schedule. Look at all the poor offenses they faced all season long. This defense had no playmakers on the defensive line and it showed today.

No Glenn at LT proved costly in crunch time with the rookie struggling with one of the best pass rushers in football.

The Colts still had their chances and the turnovers were costly, but this Colts defense wasn't nearly as good as it was hyped to be.

It seems typical of the Colts play during playoffs! One and done! How does that happen? Perhaps it is better for the Chargers to be embrassed by the Patriots rather than the Colts. This will be the first year I cheer for the NFC in the Superbowl!

Stay true to the AFC and once the Pats dispatch the Chargers root for the 19-0!

I know manning will be rooting for Tommy Terrific Brady in the superbowl!
