The end was sudden, but not surprising

There are 188 comments on the The Indianapolis Star story from Jan 13, 2008, titled The end was sudden, but not surprising. In it, The Indianapolis Star reports that:

In the locker room, the silence was eerily funereal. Players showered and dressed slowly, even grudgingly, like they were hoping they might be called upon to mount one, last, desperate drive.

What an about face by Bob here. Earlier in the week the Chargers are in over their heads. Now we go back to bashing all the Colts.

No surprise, Bob here is all over the board when it comes to covering this team, jumping on and off the bandwagon faster than anyone else in the city.

Today, the Colts didn't hang with the big boys. Plain and simple. They deserved to lose. Plain and simple. What else needs to be said?

The 3 man defense allowed Rivers to complete every third and down situation. On the offense why throw two long passes in the end zone on a three and 5 down. Not bad team play but rather pathetic coaching.

Bad TD decisionmaking caused this--three weeks off screwed up the O timing, but good. Going for a mini screen of six feet on the two yard line is idiotic. Taking time to enroll your kid in school in Fla when your mind should be focused on the playoffs is irresponsile to the 58,000 of us who pony up 10 million 10 times a year just to get in the building. Not preparing the D is an insult to football fans everywhere. Stick a fork in him. He's done.

Do you get your stats from CBS? 67 penalties in 16 games average a little over 4 a game. They had five in this game. So how is that a big deal? Take a second and realize how dumb you sound. Go COLTS!

"It must be said: The Colts have become the Atlanta Braves of the NFL. Five straight seasons of 12-or-more victories is absolutely remarkable. But it's also relatively meaningless when you've got just one Super Bowl ring to show for it."

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Suckers. I've been waiting to say it for a long time. I have kept my mouth shut all year listening to you praise your team and talk trash about ours, even after we came back from 10 down to beat you in the RCA Dome.

Colts=Braves
Patriots=Yankees

Enjoy watching the team you despise go 19-0.

It is disappointing and I am sure no one is beating themselves up more than all 53 of the young men we love to cheer on each week.

Thanks for a wonderfully entertaining season. I wish we were moving on, but that's the way life is. Keep working hard and I am really proud to be a Colts fan.

Go Colts!!

Agreed. Bob didn't throw anyone under the bus...he told it just like it happened. We don't want to admit it, but our team played like crap today and they have the next 6 months to think about it. I'm glad someone's telling it like it is.

Coaching was questionable. The Harrison situation was questionable. Ryan Grant fumbled twice in the GB game, and they stuck with him. You pull Harrison out for Fletcher?!!

Tony Dungy enrolling his kid in a Tampa school right during playoff time was questionable. The kid couldn't have waited 3 more weeks? I know it was the beginning of the semester, but I doubt he would have been that far behind.

I like Dungy, but I think he failed his team. Next year, if we do get in the situation where we have a bye, don't rest them. Let's put that issue to rest. The issue of "should they play or should they sit?" It has proven to be the kiss of death.

Welcome to the club. Bob, you got it right. Finally. People who look to the positives after yet ANOTHER big fave home loss are myopic. The people "who are sick of the crap you write" are those who listen to the mushy mushy cant say anything bad about our team colts broadcasts with Lame-O.

yuck I hate being equated with the Yankees but, now I understand how Yankee fans feel a little bit. But, PAts are nowhere near to what the yankees are to baseball not by a longshot. They would need to win another7 super bowls.

Yo Indy fans, sorry about your loss. I opened the newspaper this morning in San Diego to the sports page and Bob Kravitz had an article titled "Why the Colts Will Win: They're Better, stupid" Well, Phillip and his boys sure showed who was better didn't they. NOTE to Brady: Don't underestimate the Chargers! GO BOLTS!

How noble of you to "keep your mouth shut all year". Big deal. Who cares if you keep your mouth shut.

You still will not be "America's team". There is a man named Brett Favre who has captured America's heart this season, so no matter what you do, from now on, you'll be the second story.

Rightfully so, because Favre and the Pacers play the game how it's supposed to be played, not "misinterpreting the rules" to gain an advantage.

Enjoy your run.

As badly as the Colts played today, these Atlanta Braves comparisons are BS. The Atlanta Braves play in the MLB, with a non-existent salary cap. The Colts play in the hard cap NFL. We've had FAR more personnel changes than the Braves ever had, it's much tougher to keep a team good in the NFL.
