A worthy adversary

If Purdue is going to beat Central Michigan for the second time this season and snap a three-game bowl losing streak, it will have to figure out a way to contain quarterback Dan LeFevour. Read more

Good luck to the Boilers. I guess I am forced to watch this game because there is literally nothing else on. Should at least be high scoring. Funny the tone of this article tries to stir up anticipation of a great game. PU hammered them the first time. We will see if the gap between CMU and PU grew or shrank during the season and that should be a good indicator of which direction these two teams are heading and how fast they are headed there.

Hope all you PU fans had a very Merry Christmas even with PU basketball starting to look like more of the team we all thought they would be this season.

For not caring for the Boliers you are spending a great deal of time here...WHY??? Are you bored or just upset that the NFL CH will be televising the IU game which most of the country does not get??? It shows you where the networks rate the IU Loosers this year in Football!!!! No one cares so they will show it on NFL Ch....I love it!!!! LOL

I will definitely not watch. Perhaps, the Athletic Director will get the point after his program is mired in apathy and lack of ticket sales.

Good Luck to the Boilers!!
I do not think that Purdue, IU or Michigan State should have made bowl games. All 3 finished below .500 in the conference.
At least 2 loses for the Boilers were to Ohio State and Michigan.

Purdue 45
Central Michigan 38

You hate to pull for the opposing team, but in this case I will be rooting for C.MICH. Read Tom Kubats article in West Lafayette Journal and Courier, pretty much say's what I have thought, either Tiiller wins tonight or there is a great chance he will be gone after the game! Money always talks and the more influencial alumni have spoken. "If we are to grow, Tiller must go!" It's good to see that that our alumni base is not satisfied with mediocrity any more!

Dude you apparently dont look at these boards very often. I am about as big a Hoosier fan as you can get, but I am also fair to the Boilers most of the time. I am not rushing to smash them at every opportunity like some do. I did that for a couple years and it just gets old now. No team is ever as good as a fan of that team thinks they are and no team is ever as bad as an opposing fan thinks they are.

Who cares anyway. They are playing Central Michigan in the Motor City Bowl. Hardly something on a level that would get you too upset I would think.

I think we let Tiller coach 1 more year and see what happens.
If we get rid of TIller we could get another Colleto and be back in the basement. Who would Purdue hire?? Not that many good/ great coaches availble. Tiller needs to change the offense alittle bit. Spack has done a pretty good job with the defense. But any defense is going to fail when the offense keeps going 3 and out. Sooner or later the defense is just to tired. Maybe we need a new Offensive Coordinator who knows more about the spread offense.

Purdue athletics could it be anymore
unexciting!! At least Tiller takes them annually to a Bowl but Detroit? Basketball is free falling again but they did dance last year....at least we have BUTLER BASKETBALL again winning 11-1 and 16th ranked, smart kids & great basketball..........

If the Boilers can outscore CMU in this second matchup they should have no problems beating them a second time this season.

If I lived in Lizton and was an IU fan I would kill myself. Look what happened at IU after they fired Bill Mallory. IU plays an easy pre Big Ten schedule, if not for that, they would be home watching the Motor City bowl saying "damn we wish we were there".

Your Purdue butt kissing day after day on here is unbelievable. I question you as an IU fan. My two favorite teams are IU and whoever plays Purdue and i would expect Purdue fans to say the reverse of the same thing.

Where were all these influential Alumni the 20 years before Joe came to Purdue?
Joe will be the winningest coach in Purdue's history and so many so called fans want to throw him under the bus. I don't get it.
Even in a down year, we go bowling.
So let's say Morgan cans Joe. Who do you bring in to coach the Boilers? If you think this year was bad, just think how horrible at least the next two seasons would be if Joe is given the ax this winter.
For all you Joe haters, give it up already. If Joe is terminated, what is the next asinine topic you'll
b!tch & moan about? Ticket prices going up (when you aren't even a season ticket holder)?

You are quite the classy person, aren't you (albeit the Hep's dead, move one" comment. Makes me proud to be an IU fan!

Please check PU's pre-big ten season schedule in football. I think you will find it eerily familiar to IU's.

Otherwise, quit your blabbing and posting BS!

Except Notre Dame who is at least supposed to be good every year. Listen, the easy schedule started with Mallory who dropped Nebraska. No IU team has finished over .500 in conference games for a long, long time. They always suck. Purdue sucks too, but we should expect better.

Yawn, The Dirty City Bowl featuring football powerhouse Central Michigan? Is this where the Purdue Football program is? As a Buckeye fan in Indy, I here all the Purdue talk and I just laugh, but I've seen this a thousand times before. A decent program enters years of malaise and stale recruiting. It flounders around from meaningless bowl to meaningless bowl while recruits perpetually are concerned Tiller might get the axe. It caps progress and turns away players, boosters, fans while several other Big Ten teams pass by (Wisc, Penn State, Illinois). If you have your doubts now, put the pressure on. Perform or move on, if not, you'll be stuck in Detroit playing mid majors for the next few years while everyone else around you moves up.
Eight Mile-

You're right, it could be worse. For example, we could be getting blown out in the National Championship game. So how many do the Bucks lose by in this year's game?

Why don't you pretend you live in Lizton and complete the act. Obviously, you know little about college football. Play with you GI Joe and leave football analysis to the grown ups.
