Well the fact is, they would have gotten pasted even with Antoine Winfield on Sunday night. 19 rushing yards is appauling for this once great rushing offense. Notwithstanding, it is becoming clear that the Vikings secondary has some very serious problems at safety and now with Ced Griff going down, Winfield needs to step up and play against the Bengals. They need to get angry over this loss and take out their anger on the Bengals Sunday.

Don't play until you're really ready, It's that simple. We need you 100%, not 90%. We also need you for several more years. Don't risk an early return, no matter how we striggle.

As much as I like Winfield as a player, he always seems to be hurt. If I remember correctly, he missed a good chunk of last season too due to injury. I wonder if he was worth signing in the offseason.

I too wonder if it was worth reading what you just wrote
because it was garbage considering football is a contact sport
and most players get injuries sometimes in their careers.

couple great moves by the genius childo .... those safeties are really special i'll tell you .... to draft/keep/start Tyra Johnson , who looks awful and way out of his league, and dump Sharper is about as idiotic of a coaching decision as they come .... wait , unless you count the big free agent signing of Maggie Williams to the big bucks and he looks just as bad .... what brilliant coaching decisions

our safeties look like garbage. cedric has improved drastically over the last year and a half but he can't do it by himself. sapp and allen both make some great plays but also do some really stupid S#$t...i think paymah is just bad. we need antoine back.

what are you talking about? Winfield played 16 games last season. Yeah, he's really injury prone.

blah, blah, blah...just shut the eff up and get out there and play. You whined all summer about a new contract, the Queens give you want and now you have a sore foot and can't play...what a joke.........time to bring back Waswa Surranga......
hey, when I played I stunk as bad as any CB in the league but at least I was out there every week getting toasted and took it like a man.

When is this so called hard hitting machine going to return. He makes one pro-bowl and then wants huge money. Now he is sitting on the sideline hurt. This is really starting to pis* me off. The pack looked horrible last night but they refuse to go away.

Vikings, you better pick up the tempo real quick or your going to get caught by the packers.

I am a huge Viking fan living in Wisconsin and I have to hear about this all the time. Win to more games to give me a breather for a week or two.

Adrian Peterson is past his prime! we should trade him now and get some good draft picks. This season is over I guarantee if we make to the playoffs and win a game we will definetly lose to th saints!! Ill bet anyone money on that.

Justin,

What is it about my post that you disagree with? Granted Winfield is a good player but we need to keep pace with the Saints. Packers toughest game comes last week of season against the Cards. They may be sitting people by then. All I am saying is the tempo of Sunday nights game really scared me. This Sunday will be another test.

Please jump in here and offer some insight?

I'll jump in and give it a shot.

How about not hitting the panic button until after we play Cincy. I'm pretty sure people will quit freaking out after they realize that the Cards played their best game of the year and they were not going to loose to anyone, no matter who they played. Vikes played their worst, and you could see it on most of the player’s faces that they weren't very motivated. Very flat. IT'S JUST ONE GAME. Let's all wait and see how they play on Sunday.

Keeping pace with the Saints? Pretty much over unless for some reason they have a total breakdown. Keeping one of our best defensive players from being lost for the season by putting him out there before he is 100% is the smart move. And Winfield isn't the one saying he doesn't think he is ready. He wants to play! Everyone needs to get off his a*s*s.
