According to Henry Lake at KFAN (via PFT), the Vikings ARE trying to make Jackson walk through that door...

actually, the vikings defense for whatever reason allowed the saints to get a win. maybe they were just getting tired after all the 3 and outs in the 2nd half, but it could be said that(especially being so strong this year) that if they could have stopped that 5 minute drive, at the end, vikings offense might have pulled it off. their just did not seem to be any sense of urgency anywhere. And it appeared that EJ henderson was a little shaky and cautiousb as well as favre, but that is understandable. but if henderson is going to start in the middle, he is going to have to turn back into the kamikazee he was with NO fear. Time to regroup and play loose ,now that the saints hoopla is over. saints game should have been about 5th or 6th week game. it would have been different i believe. GO VIKINGS

yea but i heard 6 weeks? Not worth it. If he's going to be suspended for 6 weeks and sidney rice comes back in 7 or 8. Not worth it.

Three things:

1 - It might only be 3 weeks. There's a hearing scheduled for that ruling in 5 days.

2 - If they get him, they might just commit Rice to the IR. Childress has made a point to say early on there's no guaranty Rice is ready mid-season.

3 - If Rice does come back this year, why wouldn't you want Jackson AND Rice? Ditch Berrian (include him in the trade?) and go with Jackson and Rice as the wideouts, Harvin in the slot, and Camarillo/Lewis at the #4 spot.

That would be the best WR corps in all over football, hands down. That's THREE Pro Bowlers and a solid possession guy. They'd almost have to trade away Berrian anyway, just to fit with the salary cap rules.

Some other report from San Diego said 2nd rounder was the top demand by the Chargers, but that a 3rd rounder is more likely. I'd do that in a heartbeat, but would want to see something longer than the one year deal rumored last week.

Write the 1st game off. The NFL typically sets the schedule to highlight the reigning NFL champ. And as one beat writer wrote..the defender has won the last 7 opening competitions which featured , for some reason (ratings perhaps), games in the defending champs own back yard. It would have been tough for any of the other 30 teams to win that one. Green Bay confessed as much. Vikes would have won in Minny though. Was I impressed with N.O.(or the Vikes for that matter)?? Not really ....but at least they kept the game clean. Hats off to N.O..... Hope they do O.K. Rather see them advance rather than the media-obsessed Cowboys. I've had enough media-hype of that team to last 4 life-times. JJ at Dallas...like your style, and thanks for stopping the practice of trying to buy championships....finally (just get they fans off the kick). And last, Childress why don't you consider starting Tarvaris? And send in Brett as needed. Perhaps then you will know your destiny...and the true effect of your gut decisions.

Why not just kick Klink out the door and everything will be righted. There was absolutely no reason that Camarillo did not play more, except for the fact that Childress and Bavel are both idiots.

I do agree that berrian needs to go. Rice, Jackson, and Harvin would be nice. But I don't know what we would be giving up to get him. I wouldn't give up a first round. Maybe second or third round plus berrian. Why not turn Joe Webb into a receiver? He's got too much talent to be sitting on the sideline. He's a playmaker with his feet.

Im afraid theres no chance of Childress leaving after getting an extension till 2013.I agree with most everyone here that Childress does not know how to run an offense.

What is bevell's job anyways? Hold the wires for childress? It seems like he doesn't do anything. It's either childress calling the plays or farve. Why do we need bevell for other than to be the decoy just to fill a job position.

Trade Berrian and McKinny for Jackson........ Those two clowns
have quit playing hard since they got big contracts. They almost
never run to left anymore because McKinny does not run block.

With all the good players the Vkes have , they will
probably make the playoffs in spite of Klink. And if
Favre can stay upright, and they get everyone back
playing, they have enough to win a SB.
But even if that were to happen......... I want Frazier,
and not Chilly on the sidelines next year.

I agree on everything. But, you need a number five; have Zygi tell Childress to get with it. Good article, Jeremy. It is refreshing to read something intelligent. I hope it rubs off on the rest of the TC writers (bozos).
