Bob Sansevere: Five keys to Vikings-Jets game

Full story: TwinCities.com

Defenses no longer will be able to put a mass of bodies near the line of scrimmage, figuring if Peterson is shut down the Vikings' offense will lose its effectiveness.

5 keys and they print 4?????
Okay, here's another. Cover the TE. Clowney leads the Jets with 19 receptions and keeps drives alive. Taking away Clowney forces Sanchez to dump off or hold the ball longer. This gives the Viking defense a better chance at getting a sack and ending a drive.

This battle will be in the trenches. Both the Vikes and Jets will try to take away the run game first. I think the Jets take their chances with Moss hoping that unfamiliarity with the offense goes to their favor. If Favre is sharp we win if not well.. lets just hope Favre is sharp.

The media has given the Jets everything so far this season. I hope the Vikings can shut them up. They haven't faced a good defense except for the Ravens who held the Jets offense rather well. Their offense will go nowhere. This pass defense looks great and while Husain Abdullah looked terrible in New Orleans, he's really been solid the last two games.

Give the ball to Peterson and when they don't expect it, hit em up with a bomb to #84. Thank GOD he's back home!:)

Just maybe J. Allen can use some of his big game hunting tactics on sneaking up on the Jets like he did on his TV hunting program..."Sneak, Sneak, Pounce!!

If Harvin is at full speed, he should have a big game. His hip injury set him back. Once he gets up to speed he will be as dangerous as Moss.

2.5, not 3. Bears are crap - not a single x-player analyst thinks the Bears are going anywhere. This idea of the box NOT being stacked will only happen IF Favre connects with Moss early and often. Until that happens, Jets corners and safeties will respect nothing in the Minnesota offense and the box will stay stacked shutting down Peterson and pressuring Favre. Thus, Favre to Moss is the game in a nutshell - without it we don't pass or run - thus, we don't win. Also, the Jets have a head coach; we don't - there will, all analysts agree, be NO excuse(s) for Childress if this talent doesn't win games - argue that point and lose fast, Childress lovers.

I'l tell you what the #1 key is - score more points than the Jets. It's such a waste of time, but all sports reporters do this. They love to come up with "Keys to the Game". The keys to winning are always the same - stop the run, pressure the quarterback, and don't turn the ball over.

Watch - even with Moss: Run on first down, second down, then, depending on yardage, maybe pass on 3rd (incomplete since the defense will expect it, since Moss and Favre have just begun to woik together), then punt. Moss will get sick and p_ssed at the childish, moron Childress play calling fast and malcontention with surface - just watch... Moss WILL leave after the season.

Gotta watch for the screens to LT and nail him early and often. Agree on the TE also. But this IS a winnable game. Just not easy.

One important key you forgot:

Brett Farve and his state of mind.........if true of the allegations against him he will be messed up inside from hearing it from his wife, family & reporters.

They should sit him since he will not be 100% himself even with Moss & Peterson. Start the rookie instead.

You graduate from grade school yet or do you not get that "loose" and "lose" are two completely different words?

"Loose" is the opposite of tight, "lose" is the opposite of gain. Hard to take you seriously when you post something like this.

Just remember the last time we met you. By Nov. 14 it probably will be irrelavent, Chilly will probably be fired by then.
