Emotionless and ill prepared... I've been a die hard vikings fan for 35 years...I've stuck with them through thick and thin, the good years, the bad years, and the ugly...I buy their merchandise and I watch them every week, every year...I'm a true die hard fan...regardless of their record . When there 6-10 or whether there 15-1... I watch every game to the bitter end every year...and as all die hard viking fans do, I go down with the ship every season. I make excuses for them around the water cooler the next morning at work after their losses, almost like a protective parent defending their ugly, stupid stepchild...The seasons where they start off slow and finish strong or the seasons where they never quite get off the ground I don't get down on them after the season I just figure there a small market team and they did the best they could with the talent they had and we'll get em next year mentality...This brings me to my point about this season or the other few seasons that expectations are high for our beloved Purple. The last time we had a really good team was 98...This team is not as good as the 98 team, yet I believe this team is the best shot we've had since 98 to get to the Super bowl. With that being said, Super bowl appearance's for small market cities like Minnesota's only come along every ten years if that...So when I witnessed the half assed effort that the vikings displayed tonight I was speechless...I mean tonight was the first time doubt about this years pro bowl, star studded team came creeping in...from the hapless look on Farves face along the side lines or the way our Mammoth left tackled got bitched slapped around like he was a 90 lb crack whore...and Adrian Peterson sitting on the bench like he was a little kid in Pop Warner too afraid to go home after the game fearing his dad might take a belt to him for his inconsistent performance...The most troubling thing about tonight's imitation of the Detroit lions is that the Lions at least would have made it close...You would have thought the Panthers were still alive in the wild card race the way they played...did you see the emotion Steve Smith was displaying on the side lines and in the field of play...Where was Farve or Peterson's fiery speech's to their team mates along the side line or for that matter why weren't any of the viking leaders or coaches getting in the face of the players like Steve Smith was...Smith had nothing to play for except pride or his LOYAL FANS...We had home field advantage to play for and not a soul on our side lines even mustered up a spark of emotion...Troubling to say the least...Maybe this team is starting to resemble its coach emotionless and ill prepared...HEY VIKINGS PLAYERS AND COACHES "WAKE THE @#*% UP" THIS YEAR MIGHT BE THE LAST CHANCE ANY OF YOU GET TO GO TO THE BIG DANCE...DON'T BE FOOLISH, YOU HAVE THE TALENT, I JUST DON'T SEE THE FIRE...MAYBE YOU SHOULD CALL STEVE SMITH AND ASK HIM, HE'S PROBABLY GOT ENOUGH FOR ALL OF YOU...AND OH YEAH REMEMBER US YOUR LOYAL FANS, THE ONES WHO MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO DRIVE AROUND IN YOUR FANCY CARS AND LIVE IN YOUR GATED MANSIONS...AT LEAST SHOW UP TO PLAY A COMPETITIVE GAME, AFTER ALL WE ARE TAKING 3 HOURS A WEEK OUT OF OUR TIME TO WATCH YOU ...I'M SURE WE COULD FIND SOMETHING BETTER TO DO WITH OUR TIME IF WE NEW IN ADVANCE THAT YOU WEREN'T GOING TO SHOW UP...

Blame Winny, but where were our safety's? Tyrell badly missed on the Barnidge big play, and simply looked stupid on the short pass to Smith that he took to the 3yard line. Ya winny was bad but why are people so forgiving to your pathetic Safety's?? They are not even UFL calibre!

The team was Ill prepared: From Wrong length cleats to lack of adjustments on the O-Line is ridiculous at this stage of the season. Where was the RB chipping on Peppers or Kleinsausage to help McKinnie's arse? Simple adjustments for a simple minded coach. You check the field about an hour or so early then wear the proper length cleats at the start of the game (bush league). Screen pass to taylor or Harvin on Peppers side? no, why bother. Tyrell Johnson needs to ride the pine. Put in Sanford or Abdullah. Farwell for Brinkley who is in way over his head. Great move signing Klink to an extension before the end of the season...lol Way to make Matt Moore look like Joe Montana on primetime! The lack of pressure up the middle is going to be the end of the season. Play Jimmy Kennedy (fresh legs) and Kevin. Rest Pat for the next three weeks same goes for Harvin if he isn't put on IR.

What I can't figure out is why Brad Childress was in such a hurry to sign that 5 MILLION PER YEAR extension. He is one of the greatest game day coaches of all time and could have easily gotten more if he put himself on the open market. He is simply a football GENIUS. The Wilf's were lucky to lock him up so no one could steal him away. On to the Super Bowl!

Most pathetic safety play I have ever seen. We put the Tivo slow motion on the plays to laugh at how lost and soft these safetys are.

I think that the entire team should forfeit their paychecks this week for impersonating a football team.I've been watching this team since 1968 and I'm more convinced than ever that the Minnesota Vikings will NEVER-EVER win a Super Bowl. They looked completely over matched in every phase of the game(again)last night. There is no sense of urgency,no swagger and no confidence in their play. It's the same old story that every one say's I'm great so I just have to show up and we'll win. You can mark it down, they will get pounded in the playoffs with this type of effort.I don't know if they have a hex on them or this is a screwy state that votes in people like Jessie Vetura and Al Franken and it just comes naturally.

how could Winfield get credit for the tackle on that play .... it was Griffin who got a free ride on the guys back for 15 yards and then dragged him down .... Winfield did jump on the pile then after he was brought down .... if he gets credit for an assisted tackle on that it shows how pathetic the "tackles" stat is when they are added up at the end of the game

News reports say Harvin has not one, but two bulging disks in his neck. Anyone have definitive word on this? As for Winfield, he's still the best we have, and any team would take him. Bad game, still no excuse, and he knows it.

Holy fair-weather fans.... Heard the same thing 2 weeks ago.. View a loss as a reason to give up.. The run game coudln't go both ways. It came down to a pass-game, but Favre was not getting the time. Give Favre time, defenses have problems. Luckily, the D-Line of the Bears is not that great. MNF will prove that we are a good team. Than a Home game.. Than a BYE week, than another home game! We play great at home!!! indoors. Which is how we will likely play out or off-season playoffs. Outdoor + grass -- haven't been doing good.

If our dumb coach had still been playing Delhomme then you would of definitely racked up a win. Good luck in the playoffs. Roger that, and thanks for the well wishes. We'll be there, the fans. Let's hope our players amp it up a bit, like your guys did yesterday.

I love the headline...Smith has his way with vikings. It should have read smith has his way with vikequeens. It sounds more hetrosexual that way and better illustrates how the vikequeens played.

Well said Dr Fix. Well said.
No heart = don't care.
Don't care = early playoff exit
Our Defensive scheme is just plain embarrassing. If we can make Matt Moore like that God knows what Drew Brees would look like in the playoffs. I don't know which coach is worse, Leslie Frasier or Brad Clueless. I'm going with Brad this week, but next week it could be Frasier.
