Draft a QB for the future? What part of "Klink traded up into the 2nd round to get T-Joke" don't you understand??
Time to give your hate for Klink a rest and move on man. Klink has had solid drafts just by looking at how many have turned out. Jackson not withstanding. Not many teams have done better.

The Vikings are not hurting at any position. They will be drafting for depth and future. They have had a past before Brett without a clear leader at the QB position and it sucked. They have an opportunity to pick up a tremendous athlete and leader in Tebow and they are just hoping everyone is looking the other way and he falls to 30. Looking away as in Randy Moss, Adrian Peterson and Percy Harvin. Tebow will be added to this list of draft steals and we will continue to crush the Pukers for the next decade. Drafts 2 and on are a crap shoot. We will pick the best player available at DT,CB,OL,LB in no particlar order.

Here's a question:
Agreeing with the idea that the Vikes need to address both the QB and CB positions, do you:
1) Select QB first because there aren't enough good prospects to last into the late 2nd round, then take a CB in the second because that position IS deep, OR -
2) Take a higher graded CB prospect in the 1st, and risk having to choose a QB after Bradford/Clausen/Tebow/McCoy are all off the board?
I realize Griffin is hurt, but he's also young, and will likely make a full recovery (if not in time for opening day). A rookie might help in the nickle spot, but will be hard pressed to keep up his playing time when Griffin resumes his role.
Winfield is getting up there, but he'll start the season recovered from last year's injury, and I don't see any rookie taking his place so long as the Vikes keep him on the roster.
Griffin will likely be around for a few years. Winfield should be here for at least another year. Brett Favre? My money says he's long gone after 2010.
So a better question (assuming the choice is QB vs. CB) might be:
If you knew the 2010 1st round pick would spend his first year on the bench or special teams, would you rather that player be a CB, or the team's possible QB of the future?
Or how about this: Which backups do you feel better about - Sapp and Allen at the CB position, or Jackson and Rosenfels at QB?
That might be the best post I've ever seen out of you. Interesting.

I'm surprised (disappointed) Childress is still on board.
Take Tebow, he would learn much from #4.

If Vikes don't get Sheppard or Westbrook; then they should get a cornerback in the first round. The secondary is their weakest link. Then they may address other areas of need in the DT, C/OG, safety, quarterback, tightend, linebacker, and another safety/special teams player. Go Vikings!

Tebow will be there at 30. But I want to win NOW..draft a cb or dl..or trade for a player who can add something in 2010.....remember Ryan Leif or Joey Harrington?

I'm with you. I think we should draft for today as well as tomorrow. You only get Brett Favre for so much longer...Put the best team around him now. The draft picks will still be around after he is gone.
If we do end up with Tebow, I hope it's because he was the best player available at the time we pick.

Tebow is a waste

Stay away from a wasted pick on something that could be used to help the team elsewhere

Does anyone seriously think Teblow will rush for 57 TD's in the NFL like he did in college

Not to mention his passing TD's dropped from 30 to 21 in one season

A BSC Championship does not make you an automatic NFL QB

Tebow is a strange situation. He's a proven winner at the college level. By all accounts a super kid and solid citizen and a real leader.

He's going to have a great career in the NFL. Just not sure if it's at QB.
