I get on the computer every morning to check the media hoping to see a headline "Childress Fired"! Guess Wilf hasn't let it sink in that Chilly is destroying the Vikings, and Wilf is allowing him to do this.. Childress has to many drawbacks to list here at this time..However one of my pet peeves is the non-development of Joe Webb...Webb is 6Ft 3 inches tall, weights 223 lbs and is a very mobile QB..Seen him in Preseason games..Impressive indeed..The Vikings this year (And most likely next several years) are baked and done like an over-cooked pot roast..I was hoping the Vikings would at least beat the Packers on Sunday..But that is not very likely..Packers are tied in the league for sacks..Took over from J.Allen..With our Swiss Cheese Offensive line...Favre will be fattened like a cowpie..

Right, he was a none factor. Berian isn't in the same league as far as ability, but Moss is a punk looking for attention, that under achieves. Same as Marshall last nite against the Bears, tries to show up the Bears, then gets hurt supposedly, and puts on his street clothes. Nothing but a show off punk.

While i don't agree with ziggy, he will allow chilly to ride the season out. It's a money thing now, he knows the team doesn't have a prayer this year of winning and, this to me is an indication that Leslie will not get a shot at the HC job. It may be that ziggy will blow this entire thing up and start fresh, starting with a good GM. I think Leslie has earned a shot, this year not withstanding, and he's already on the payroll. Think about it, you fire chilly, start TJack and/or Webb.See what you have, i for one couldn't care less about Farve's streak and this Iron man crap. The focus should be on re-building this team. What a downer season. Each week I say ok this is when we play like we look on papper. Unfortunatly now we look bad on papper also and play accordinly. The Bears outplay us soundly on both sides of the ball and at a time when a victory could have made a statement we are back!!! I say bring in TJ and Webb. Rest Favre incase the the unlikely happens and we back into the playoffs and hope he dont through a pick.

Never done anything and they never will.
They are put together with the same idea the Twins have, Just be good enough so we can make a lot of money. That is all that needs to be done.
The Vikes, the Twins, football Gophers and the Wild - they all blow chunks.
I hate to say it but you're right. Unless an owner's ego forces them to put a winner on the field winning really doesn't matter as long as they are making money. I'm sure Zygi would love a SB champ but I bet if you'd ask him what he wants more a championship or a new stadium...well I don't think it would be even close.

He's not going to fire Klink unless he thinks it is going to impact his stadium deal. He owes the guy millions. As long as the team makes money and/or increases in value he's happy regardless of their record.

It's hard loving a team and at the same time hating the ownership and coach. Kind of like knowing a spoiled kid with a great toy. You love that toy and want to play with it but it doesn't belong to you and the kid who owns it doesn't know how to play with it.

<quoted text> So then could you explain how the coach could go from one of the best last year, to one of the worst?
Three things:
The talent of last year's team was high enough to camoflague his coaching weaknesses

The opponents talent level was low enough for the team to consistantly take advantage of

The wild card player whether it be Favre or Rice or both, doesn't matter. It was a new wrinkle that teams didn't know how to address.

We have none of that this and the team has reverted back to be an extension of the coach which is a marginal .500 team or lower.

Firing will come on Monday after the Packers sweep us and extinguish what little play off life we have. Wilf is holding out for a 2007 Giants like turn around

True statement, i would also include Percy Harvin in your wild card comment. No one knew this kid would have the impact he had as a rookie. Game film is a great equalizer, the rest of the league prepared for them. Just saying

EDEN'S PRAIRE, MN - The Unassociated Pressers is reporting a death took place at Wintering Pork recently, and all of the obvious suspects have been rounded up. All players charged with catching the football, throwing blocks and/or working to get past blockers so they can get to the person that intercepted the pass or recovered the fumble; and all personnel deemed responsible for coaching said individuals were read the riot act over and over and over again by the thousands of prosecutors self-assigned to the case - some from other states, including the one directly to the east of Minnesota - before they were led away to their homes, where they will undoubtedly spend the playoffs wondering about 2011 and beyond. Brett Favre, meanwhile, marched out of the building to a hero's welcome.

how about using Joe Webb in some kind of Wildcat formation..or ANYTHING.What do they have to lose?..Nothing plus it will give the kid a little experience anyway...Hey Klink, Hey Bevell, show some seeds, show some imagination, DO something for chrissakes....this offense is so predictable, so boring, so non existant.how many 4th downs this year has this team tried handing the ball to AP straight ahead into the line, boy, that sure keeps a defense off balance huh?..hum.....yep, Klink sure has put his mark on this team hasn't he? My biggest concern now is not getting Klink fired because that will happen soon enough but please, do NOT put Frazier in charge, he can't run a defense or at least make any adjustments so why put him in charge of an entire team?....time for a big name to take this team and fix it...THE RIGHT WAY!!!!!
To be honest, I hope the Packers just kick the Queens a55 this week so we can put Baldy out to pasture.and start the road back to respectability.....

I think if we were all honest about the Vikings this season, I think the problem lies generally in our inability to forget about last year. We made ZERO changes from last year's team in the hopes that this squad could just roll ol Brett out there and we'd be back in the Title game in no time.

We were a flawed team last year, and because we didn't want to see that, it cost us this season. We played a lot of teams last year that weren't very good. We lost two key players, E.J. Henderson and Cedric Griffin to severe leg injuries (and it was always a long shot that both would be back and playing well this season), and our receiving core (minus Sidney Rice) was probably too thin last year, only Rice and Harvin stayed healthy all of last year. Brett had never had a season like the one he had last year in his long storied career.

Now, I'm not saying this is a bad team. I'm just saying that the holes we have this year, at QB, in the secondary, at wide receiver, got bigger because we didn't address these same holes a year ago or this offseason.

Coaching changes are usually seen at the end of the year. That's when contracts are up and more coaches are available. Personnally, I'm ok with using Les as interim HC and mixing up a few pieces like Webb, TJack, D'Imperio, Sanford, sherrells etc. Least they would be more fun to watch. This group and Childress is putting me to sleep.

I so wish Wilf were in Minneapolis today. The Friday before the Packer game and I saw ONE! count em ONE person wearing a Vikings jersey in the skyway. Last year it was a sea of purple and gold.

I feel like Childress is sucking the Viking Life Force out of the fans!

Yea but with some imagination and scheming we should still be able to get this guy single up and open. The problem is Harvin's talents just BARELY fit into Childress's offensive system and Childress is either to stupid or stubborn to adjust to take advantage of him.

Exactly, it's not that Les is a shoe in for the job but lets see what he can do under adverse circumstances and how the players respond. I always hear we need a big name coach, what we need is a good coach. Being a celebrity as opposed to being a consistent winner is just another debacle waiting to happen. Someone who can build a team, add depth, see the ability of the player to learn and be coached and that's not always on some test. Inspire and motivate. Justing saying
