Tom Powers: Vikings need to plop Brett Favre on his rear

Getting all fired up about that Vikings-Bears game a week from Monday night? Well, don't. Because with any luck Brett Favre will be spending a good 50 minutes of that contest on the bench as Minnesota gives the Bears game all the emphasis it deserves: zilch. Read more

Can't put this game all on Farve, we miss EJ more than our FANS realize. We also had quite a few dropped passes and penalties in key situations. That falls on the coaching staff and players. If were going to get to the Super Bowl you have to have good coaching and execution of the plays called. Two of the last three weeks we have had neither. As Chili says we have alot to clean up, or it's going to be one and done.

So you are blaming it on the fact that EJ was out? Could he have covered Smith better than Winfield the joke? Try again.

Not a good time of the season to fall apart, we should be in full speed forward not slamming into reverse. The Vikes are imploding.....

Ya all wanted him. Now you got him. Remember every year since 1996 ended bad for him. Last 11 in Green Bay and 1 in New York. But I'm sure this year will be different....

nicksl and bondo59, I was very much against bringing Favre to the Vikings, but I would take him over Childress right now!

I agree. Maybe keeping a tight end in to block would help Brett stay off his back so we could see some magic. It appears other teams have figured that out with Jared Allen. Out coached again, nice half time adjustments????

Brett did get plopped on his rear, all right, but it was a guy named Pepper, who was doing it.

No need for the Vikings to plop Favre on his rear, Julius Peppers is taking care of that. Vikes = one and done in the playoffs.

Brett Favre considers himself bigger than life. He will wreck the Vikings playoff run.

When has Tom Powers had a decent thought? His writing style is amateurish. His takes are usually offbase. In fact, I haven't read an article of his from start to finish in years. I sometimes read the first part, laugh at what a moronic take it is, then stop. Usually, I just ignore the article altogether. Why would you sit Favre when so much is still reachable and at stake? The only worse writer in the country is Bob Sansevere, whose mancrush on Brock Lesnar is distrubing. I honestly think I could do a better job than either of them. Too bad the newspaper business is failing, so we'll never know.
You do write well; which is a refreshing change of pace from the usual gibberish one has to decipher....e.g. Vickings SUK! No Saint suk! Yu suc! No YU scuk!
