My question is... If this were just a normal drunk person would they have gotten the same treatment. It is obvious that this guy needed to sleep it off. With the backlog in the court system I truly think this is a waste of everybody's time.

And where are those changes Obama promised? January 20, 2009? Must we wait? Why is Oakland so gay like Houston and ALL of Texas is?

My point is this is nothing but headline grabbing Bullshit and is not worthy of A. anyone being arrested and B. making national news. And I don't need to read it again.

You said this

(My question is... If this were just a normal drunk person would they have gotten the same treatment. It is obvious that this guy needed to sleep it off)

The story stated that the officers told them a few times to leave and go home and that they became abusive, so now that the officers gave a few warning what do you suggest next. How about this, if you can't handle you liquor stay you dumbass home or even better when the police say go home, you go home. Why is it the police fault that some ignorant drunks can't behave themselves?

True, they had an opportunity for the 'story' to die right there, but chose to escalate the situation.
Once they did that, and it became a part of the police blotter, you know damned well that there are reporters who scour those reports for a story. It would have been reported then anyway.

Again have you ever known a drunk to comply with anything without having to repeat yourself 5, 10, sometimes even 15 times. That's the nature of drunkenness. They could arrest him put him in jail for 10 years and it still wouldn't be national news. Just some jerk in Stupid town USA who gets the national spotlight. All I'm saying is to stop putting every idiot in the national spotlight just because he's with the cowboys, giants, yankees, etc. This should have been a small article on page 47 down by the tag sale ads.

Thats the price you pay for making millions. Thats what sells papers. Now if you can't handle going out in public without becoming a freking idiot drunk then stay home. He brought it on himself. BTW being a Cowboy with all the lawbreakers on that team should be reason enough to keep you nose clean.
