This is because nobody cares about the WNBA. The whole league is a farce invented so NBA arenas have something to host during the summer.

In July, Conseco had 4 events - WNBA games. Makes you wonder why we spent $150 million of tax money, huh ?

Nice try, JoAnn but the Star still doesn't get it. The women's college teams in Indiana have had 2 NCAA championships and one runner-up in the past 8 years, compared to 1 runner up among the men's teams and the Star STILL doesn't publish the women's college schedule in the "Next Game" feature that is run during the basketball season.
As for the comments here, may of our Hoosier redneck men just can't accept that, in Indiana, the women's basketball teams are more successful than the men's. My husband, daughter, and I -- along with friends -- enjoy watching the Fever play. There are no fightsand very little hotdogging, just pure athleticism and basketball the way it's meant to be played!
You have GOT to be kidding.

Not enough recognition? Start another paper. The Star is not owned by the government, you cannot strong arm them to get what you want. It is called freedom of press just like freedom of choice. If you do not like the content of their product, don't buy it. I went to one of the other division 1 colleges in Indiana, the Star does not write about them. Guess what? I stopped buying their paper.

It is a boring game. There has to be public interest in the game for the Star to feature it.

It is not that women are not capable of outstanding athletic achievement. It is a matter of popularity. With a couple exceptions, womens athletics do not produce a lot of recognition. Womens basketball has slightly higher recognition factor than womens softball and considerably lower than womens figure skating.

Wow, I just felt time shift backwards about 30-40 years. Are we really still that sexist? Put out your Marlboro, put down your beer and get your own damn food!

Get out in da kitchen and make me a sammich.

Seriously, the only traffic control needed for a WNBA game is to put the traffic lights on flash.

That person has a good arguement, what do the next 30-40 years have in store with the direction we're going? When the country for the first 200 years was focussed on family values we thrived. What do the next 200 years have in store with our shift to feminism and liberal socialism?
