The O-line needs to do their job & make sure they protect Favre and the Defense should consider it open season against Brees - after all it's just the "style of play" for the 2010 Vikings. If it works for them, it should work for the Vikes. What gets me is the media mentality and the Aints believing New Orleans deserved to win because of what the city went thru with Katrina.

I say hit Brees late 3 or 4 times on the opening drive to make a statement. Take the penalties, who cares, our offense is good enough to get a TD back if they score.

SKOL VIKES! Get er done on Thursday boys!

> Yeah, yeah, yeah ... who cares about the dimwitted media anyway? The nutless Viqueens got castrated by the Saints, and it will be déjà vu, Thursday night. You can watch Favre get his @ss handed to him again by the Saints. That old goat is gonna wish he was in his Wranglers playing a pickup game in the mud in Mississippi.

It's time for our d to stop playing soft... start hitting brees like there's no tomorrow....show him how's it like to get them "legal" hits over and over. See if he'll change his mind about his d. I respected him...but that last comment just showed he ain't got no class.....

You should have stayed in class where you would have had a least a 50/50 chance of gaining some intelligence. Have a nice day in the unemployment line ... ya hear!?

Hey, look at that, there's a poster from LA and he knows how to read and write. Who knew, ya'll? Anyway, of course some of those hits were dirty, it's not even debatable. Hence the fines. Duh. I'll be raising my beer glass to any Vikes player that puts Brees face into the faux grass, suckas!!!

You are so correct....when people think of La. they always think about how you guys sit around reading and writing. Ya right!! Last year was a Saints fluke and they will not repeat. Probably won't even win their division. Cheers :)

this game is going to be a brutal affair for a quarterback who cant get out of defenders way anymore,is just starting to get into football shape after not having surgery until his recovery would convieniently keep him out of hated training camp with "his team",I think he will be sitting the bench by the fourth quarter due to a ferocious pass rush he cannot avoid like TJack who has good legs and speed. Just get to Brees and lay a handful of those 'legal' hits on him.
He'll be singing a different tune if that is the case, guaranteed!

Put the third string DE in there and intruct him to hit Brees no matter if he has the ball or not, and hit him hard with bad intentions.
Time NO gets a taste of their own medicine.

Fines don't make one iotta of diference if you can get the QB on the ground and he cannot get up. The cheap shots the Saint's took liberty to hand out was a indication that they couldn't win the game with Favre playing at full strength so went after him using unethical, cheap, dirty hits. It worked, they won the game and they also won the unsportsmanship award which goes to the dirtiest team, ask the Cardinals and watch the replays of both games. Thats why the fines were handed out to the goons and the officials were chastized by the NFL. They sure didn't get the fines for playing a clean game.

Bet Brees will get whacked a time or two. Control the ball (no turnovers) and the clock, and the Vikes bring home the win!

I think our guys know what they have to do. Now just go DO IT. Beat those guys on the scoreboard, and beat 'em up. Set the tone for the season for both squads. Go, Vikes!

ESPN ANALYST PREDICTION

Kevin
Seifert
ESPN.com
PACKERS DIVISION FINISH: 1 The Packers enter 2010 as a trendy Super Bowl contender. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is responsible for much of that optimism, but the Packers are well-rounded and highly motivated to grab the division back from Minnesota.

John
Clayton
ESPN.com
PACKERS DIVISION FINISH: 1 It has been three years since the Packers won the division, but coach Mike McCarthy and GM Ted Thompson can rejoice now that Rodgers is one of the league's top QBs and the Packers are loaded on offense and defense.

Adam

ESPN
PACKERS DIVISION FINISH: 1 Rodgers is the best young quarterback in football. Now Green Bay is set up for Life After Favre ... if only it can take No. 4 down this season.

Matt

PACKERS DIVISION FINISH: 1 The Packers are right there with New England with this high-powered offense. In fact, it is flawless. I worry a lot about the pass defense, but Rodgers is ready to lead his squad to the Super Bowl this season.

Seth

ESPN The Magazine
PACKERS DIVISION FINISH: 1 No joke: By the end of this season, many analysts -- smart ones -- will be calling Rodgers the NFL's best QB. Not the best young QB. The best.

ESPN ANALYST PREDICTION...
Hey, Jimi, here's what an NFL scout, coach or front-office man, speaking on the condition of anonymity, had to say about the Packers (from Pro Football Weekly):

• "Everyone is talking about Green Bay as a front-runner this year. What is funny to me — I don't see how Aaron Rodgers won't be under siege again like he was last year with (OLT Chad) Clifton and (ORT Mark Tauscher) back. It's the same guys protecting the edges. They did not get younger.(Rookie Bryan) Bulaga could help, but it's hard to have big expectations for a rookie. I will say this — they are going to need him by the end of the year.... The other part that is scary is — who is playing corner?(Charles) Woodson is still one of the best, but (Al) Harris is the oldest corner in the league and coming off a knee injury (he'll miss the first six weeks of the season on the PUP list). Tramon Williams is not very good. And outside of Clay Matthews and Cullen Jenkins, they don't have much of a pass rush."

That's from someone who actually knows something about football, not like the hacks from ESPN.
