MSU ready for Tigers' running attack

There are 2 comments on the The South Mississippi Sun Herald story from Sep 14, 2007, titled MSU ready for Tigers' running attack. In it, The South Mississippi Sun Herald reports that:

“It's what this offense is built on, the running game”

Mississippi State has lost six straight to the Auburn Tigers, the last five of those defeats by a staggering average of 30 points.

Now the Bulldogs have another variable to deal with.

Auburn is trying to bounce back from a 26-23 upset at the hands of South Florida. The Tigers (1-1, 0-0 SEC) will play host to Mississippi State (1-1, 0-1) in an 11:30 a.m. game today at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

'They're still a very talented football team,' MSU coach Sylvester Croom said. 'Their defense is playing extremely well. They're used to winning. They're playing at home and they're still one of the better teams in the conference.' Read more

Yes, Auburn is (or "was?") one of the better teams in the SE Conference. I am not what one would call a diehard football fan; I am a MSU grad/fan and always like to see the Dawgs win, but I can still get up and go to work the Monday after a loss.

I realize "it's only football," but I think many Ole Miss AND Mississippi State fans still haven't forgotten how deceitfully Tommy Tuberville treated Ole Miss. Can't help wondering if his permanent "smirk" is a little less prominent after losing 19-14 to MSU yesterday. HOW 'BOUT THEM DAWGS???
