Dolphins sign Ricky Williams to 1-year extension

Ricky Williams is signed up for two more seasons in the NFL. The Miami Dolphins are hoping he plays out his contract this time. The Dolphins signed Williams to a one-year contract extension through the 2009-10 season Sunday, putting their faith in the controversial running back even though he's bailed on them in the past. Speaking publicly for the first time in months, Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland said the team wanted to extend the 31-year-old so he didn't become a free agent after this season.

Imma lay off the substance abuse/Parcells connex. A certain Lawrence Taylor comes to mind and Il lleave it at that. If Parcells thinks Ricky will work out, fine by me and Mike Ditka. If the Cowboys didn't have marion Barber & signed Ricky Williams, I bet the majority would be all for it!
I don't condone marijuana smoking, but I also think that their is nothing wrong with it.
It's Ricky William perogative to do what he wants.

But if he is going to play in the league as the same as Adam Jones, and Chris Henry, then he needs to respect the NFL's substance abuse policy.
