No way ducks deserve chance at title before the tide does. LSU pretty much man handeld them. Plus sec beat them last year by a team that isn't near as good as bama r LSU. Pretty much one man team on offense an defense beat them last year.

As an LSU fan, I don't want to see a rematch, and I don't want to play Bama again because we all know how closely matched those teams are. Assuming LSU can take care of business in the SEC, I wanted to LSU vs Stanford or Boise, but they obviously were both over-ranked. Bring on Ok State or whoever - nobody can beat LSU this year.

Bama can an will if they play again. Y'all know you were lucky nov. 5 wired things happen if pass was one yard further TD penalties killed us as well. I want another shot I think we will win

I don't think the BCS system will have 2 SEC teams for the NC game, even though that may be best matchup.

Just for the record, Timmy, the SEC didn't beat Oregon last year;
Auburn did. Conferences don't play football games .... individual
schools do. Besides that, the final score was pretty much determined by one rather freakish play.

We keep hearing garbage like "LSU pretty much handled them," but
the fact remains that the outcome was determined more by Oregon
mistakes that put LSU in great field position. That's not to
LSU's credit. Oregon had literally a ton of guys starting their
first game when they played LSU. They have improved steadily
during the season, as any number of analysts have mentioned.

Incidentally, I may be a Duck fan but I was actually hoping for
an Oklahoma State vs. LSU championship game. I was hoping more
for an Alabama vs. Oregon BCS game. That went out the window
with Oklahoma State's loss tonight.

Incidentally who put up more points and more yards against LSU
.... Alabama or Oregon?

The South might be glued to the TV for an LSU vs. Alabama rematch
played in the deep South, but much of the rest of the country will
tune out because their first game was boring and they will not
accept the premise that the #2 team in the SEC-West is better than
a half dozen or more 1 loss teams from other conferences. That
might sell down your way and feed that "SEC-mania" that seems so
much a part of the South, but it doesn't sell nearly as well
elsewhere.

Incidentally, you do know that since 2002 3 of the 8 schools with
the worst overall records were SEC teams, don't you? It doesn't
prove that the SEC has been better ... it proves that the upper
1/3 of the SEC has had it easy, playing a soft OOC schedule
(except for LSU) and refusing home and home scheduling, then
having at least 3 to 4 guaranteed wins in their SEC schedule.
That puts them 6-0 or 7-0 ..... with just 5 or 6 games requiring
any real preparation or commitment.

What is "best" about watching 2 teams kick 5 field goals?

Do you think that is what the rest of the country wants to
see ..... again?

So what your pretty much saying is don't even field a defense. Some people still enjoy defense me for one I like big hits an keeping the other team out of the endzone that's a great accomplishment I also still think defense wins championships but that's juste. Most people like no defense an the score being 65- 63 I'm sorry that just don't impress me I still like football the way it was meant to be played were a good offense an defense were as equally important

Bill - you do understand that for the last several years, nobody has been able to put together a team that could beat the SEC champion. Same applies this year. LSU and Bama are the 2 best teams and nobody could beat either one right now except the other. I don't want to see a LSU Bama rematch. I want to see LSU polesmoke some poor sap chosen as worthy to play in the NC game.

Say what you will about the SEC, but they're 0.714 in BCS Bowl Games, and 7 of 7 in BCS National Championships (that's 1.0 for you statisticians). Will be 8 of 8 this year. The SEC has no competition outside the SEC.

Too bad your silly team couldn`t kick just one field goal last night
How many field goals did Alabama miss against LSU?
And how many of them were either shorter or not at
the buzzer with the game on the line?

We won't know unless the BCS decides not to partner up SEC
teams against one another, will we?

Just my thoughts too.

Here's a question .....

Would you rather see those 3 teams against 3 non-SEC teams
and risk a loss in the championship game .... or have an
SEC vs. SEC championship game and an SEC team against a
Big Ten, Big 12, or PAC-12 conference champion?

Must curious. I would prefer to see the 3 opportunities
to prove dominance against a kind of incestuous championship
game and one other. I just think it would be more convincing
to win 3 rather than 2.

In 3 years, who will remember anyway?

Regarding the last sentence in your post: Ever heard of
Joe Willie Namath and the New York Jets? They've got to play
the game and win it. Saying no one else is worthy, whether
true or not, is an unconvincing argument given the fact that
only 1 SEC team (Alabama) risked playing a game against a
credible opponent away from home. I don't regard the LSU
game against Oregon as a "neutral" site.

7 for 7 or 8 for 8, Drew. The most foolhardy argument in
sports, collegiate or professional, is to argue the merits
of "this year's team" on the achievements of last year's
team, let alone the achievements of the teams of 2004.
Hey, most of the players who went on to the NFL from the
SEC in 2005 are already retired. See my point? You can
argue tendencies, but you cannot use the past as a predictor
of the future.

Read the disclaimers on virtually every Prospectus. They all say the same thing: "Past performance is no guarantee of future
success or performance." How is it any less true in sports?

To me dominance is 2 teams from the same conference playing for a national title is pretty damn dominate brother I don't think that's has ever happen before an another thing the top 3 teams in the country are the same conference I do believe that's awesome think what ever you want!!
