Since having the worst record this year would constitute a "win," I have to assume either Luck returns for one more year to get his freaking degree or we "win" the last game of the year & finish with the second worst record.

If we don't beat Arizona, Denver is our only win.
We are in the suck for Luck sweepstakes.

What about last seasons Flounder for Ponder...I guess we will just write that 1st round pick off already huh...

Frasier 101...maybe draft Luck, be too afraid to start him....go after yet another washed up QB vet...that way Ponder has a new buddy to talk to while he rots on the bench...

If MN was heavily invested in the passing game, Luck would be logical. Frasier is a "run first" coach....plus we have WRs who are spotty at best. Remembering that football is a team sport, we should draft Luck and then trade him for a draft pick, LT and a WR....throw in a couple of CBs too.(Hersel Walker type deal)

Why not trade the 1st round pick to someone who would want to draft Luck, if the Vikes were even in that position on draft day, for more draft picks...Draft Luck then trade him???? WTF...

If you guys end up with the 1st pick ( esp if you play Ponder for 8 games or so and hes proves to have an upside)Id seriously consider trading the pick. The Vikes can land several high picks nad fill many holes.

WHAT! Draft Luck and trade him? Nobody on earth would make that move. Keep Luck get rid of Ponder when a superbowl within 5 years.

To win nowadays a great QB is needed. Ponder at best is Doug Flutie, Luck could be Cam Newton.

But until Frasier hears that "pop" noise after pulling his head out and getting over his still "In the hunt" fetish at 0-4...we will never see Ponder play...

Frasier is failing in the present...and failing to plan for the future...

I still say Frasier MUST play Ponder NOW to even see if he was a failed draft pick...

If Frasier waits until week 12 to start Ponder...then he is a bigger tard that I ever imagined...

I would like to see if Ponder is a busted pick before even drafting yet another QB making this organization look even more foolish...

It's troubling that Frazier, Spielman think Ponder is not ready to play now when people said he was most pro ready of any draftable college QB 2011.

No doubt, Frasier is clueless thinking he can still salvage this year...start Ponder and see if he was a wasted pick, you can still get a fair evaluation of his reads and such even with lame WR's...pull your head out Frasier...worse coaching to date...

Get a GM!
Do that first, then try and put a team together. The management you have now is not working and wonít work no matter how many draft picks you have. Look at the past few years drafting, not very good so why would it change now.

The Vikes were close to the Super Bowl two years ago, and couldnít even make the playoffs now if they had Tom Brady.

Itís a team game! The team now is not talented enough and a bunch of rookies next year wonít change that either, not Ponder, not Luck, not anyone. Start over and build for the future while they still can or continue down the long empty path off zero championships as they have.

Frasier's clueless plan at 0-4 is remain "In the hunt" with McDivots...he has no future plans...

Sounds good. I will enjoy watching Luck play his home games at Farmers Field for the Los Angeles Vikings.

If Minn.gets teh 1 pick, takes Luck,so do they just unload Ponder and basically give up a 1st round pick w/o see what they have *( unless they do play Ponder and he doesnt impress)

Yep, sounds real good...draft yet another QB in round 1...sooner or later you get the right one...that is unless you LEAVE HIM ON THE BENCH AN NEVER LET HIM PLAY....

But seriously...unload Ponder on to who???? NO ONE HAS SEEN HIM PLAY IN A REGULAR SEASON GAME!!!!!!!!

I would trade for that...at least a 7th round pick...

Aaah, trade draft picks? And get what, their 1st and 2nd? Be OK if you traded down a couple of places. What about trading down to 10th or 12th? Or 19th? 1st, as everybody says, play Ponder to see what you have, then make a decision. If Ponder does a good job, and you still have #1 pk, then work out a deal before draft day where you draft Luck and trade him for picks AND bodies, sorta like the Hersel Walker trade....altho some people may be too young to remember how Dallas got to the S.B. off MN thinking 1 guy can make a team great.

Today it's Luck, tomorrow it will be some other QB that is the "best" possible get. If we get Luck, do we trade him so we can get the next "best"? At some point in time you've got to start using what we've got and quit "wishing".

Besides DJ Dozier keeps coming to mind. In college he had a great football career. Then he came to Minnesota and 4 years later was unemployed.
How many other players have we heard this same story about? Especially at the QB position.

your thoughts......

IF (and I stress IF) Ponder works out...why in the hell would you draft another QB just to trade him in hopes of landing some one-off Herschel Walker-like scenario?

Why not, say, draft a player you need...or trade out for more draft picks? Why draft a QB for the sole reason of trading him for what you hope will last 3 years as Vikings?

Isnt that what F/A is for?

Seems like this Luck plan would hender the Vikes more than help by banking on what ever vets you may land may help a team that will struggle for the next few years anyway...why not build for the future instead of trying to "collect" a few needs in hopes you can win 8 games and start all over again...
