What a great group of young men. They could have given in toward the end but the defense remained solid for the last effort by Georgia Tech. Thank you Dave Philistin for one of the best performances by a Maryland player ever. Rest, now, and get ready for Virginia.

"As Georgia Tech's Travis Bell prepared to kick what could have been the game-winning field goal yesterday"

Not so fast. I think it's unfair two write-off Md's chances to get a field goal in the last 54 seconds. Turner has shown he can throw the ball, and Maryland has a kicker who can kick it 50+ yards.

A lot of things "could" have happened

You are right, Jeff. But Heather wrote that it "could" have been the game-winning FG, not that it "would" have been. I don't think she was ruling out a possible game-winning drive in that sentence.
