Actually, the Fins have Ginn running long routes all day, and he is open a lot. Even Sporano acknowledged this after Sunday's game. Sporano simply said the ball didn't go his way because Pennington didn't get that far in the progression. The real problem is that Pennington has no arm and thus can't throw to an open wideout downfield. That is going to be one of the main problems going forward offensively once teams can effectively defend the Wildcat formation. If there is no threat of a deep pass to Ginn or other wide receivers, then defenses much more easily shut down the run and short pass because they can stack up. The last play of the game on Sunday exemplified Pennington's weak arm: the only hope was a hail mary; instead, Pennington threw the ball 5 yards. We can only hope Ginn is still around when Henne takes over.

The Wildcat will continue to work if used properly. Not 40 yards per play but Ronnie is hard to stop from back there. He's about 4 yards a clip and that's good.
BTW, Texans, be happy with your one and only win- you could have easily lost yet again. Show some class.

GInn is a long strider who takes awhile to get up to speed. He is better as a kick returner if he actually wants to catch the kick and stay inbouns.
