Kind of like when you did'nt need to beg for a coach after Spurrier left and wound up with the guy going 2-9 at Illinois currently. Meyer won't stay there long. He already has his title, and if the Giiiter nation is annoying enough to run off Spurrier of all people, how long before Urby says "let me out of this hillbilly loony bin"
What makes you think Meyer is going anywhere? Couldn't have it any better! And the school has one of the biggest athletic budgets in the country. And boosters that are loaded and ready to spend on him and anything the Athletic department needs! And the hillbilly element outside of Gville has little if any contact with the University or the athletic program. Actually Gville is very nice. Now, why is it that the U is replacing coaches every few years? Could it be that Dade is a loony bin?

The point is that with all those great things that you have described that come with the UF athletic dept. and the UF football team, you still managed to drive Steve Spurrier away. A man who has a degree from UF, a Heisman trophy, 12 years of success, and a national title. Why, mainly because he got tired of the annoying Gator fan base, and he wanted to try his hand in the NFL. Meyer has no history anywhere close to Spurrier's, already has a title, same annoying fan base, he's from Cleveland, the Browns suck and there coach is going to get fired. Urban has a huge ego and I guarantee his ultimate goal is the NFL. Add it all up amigo. And yes, Dade county is it's own special kind of loony bin

By the way, as far as pointing out UM changing coaches every few years, you are helping to prove my point.

Jimmy Johnson left for NFL
Dennis Erickson left for NFL
Butch Davis left for NFL

See a pattern developing? UF has caught up now to the point where there coaches are actually interesting to NFL teams. Although, based on the one try with Spurrier, the jury is still out

It blows my mind how some of the SAME Gaytor fans from last year, are on here again, runnin their hick yappers. Here's a tip, STOP IT, you're jinxing your team. You won your title man, good job, happy for ya, now go to your OWN blog site, this is for CANES. We're on a roll with recruits, and just got a commit from a top 3 LB in the NATION, and more coming. We have a few holes to fill, and thank God we have guys who after graduating frm the U, still want to come back and put their hearts in it. Shannon, Barrow, Kosar, it's good stuff. That is FAMILY, and you can't duplicate that. You don't get that at UF, once they graduate from their, they don't want to come back, lol.

Boy, Erickson and Davis were a hit in the NFL and JJ pulled off the deal with Herschel to make his career in Dallas. He failed miserably in Miami!

Pensacola is home to the Blue Angels, and also the WORLD'S Whitest Beaches. Don't even think about comparing G-ville to P-cola, lol. Hickabama has about 50 miles of coast, and we have of course have a whole state. Fish, you pretty much don't have a leg to stand on when you go trying to compare G'ville to pretty much anywhere, except maybe FSU.

"Coming from Orlando?"..right, i'm sure the next fortune 500 company or world class restaurant cant wait to find a prime piece of property in gainesville. Actually from East Ft Laud, the real east lauderdale, on the intracoastal..Not NE Pompano Beach near the intracoastal, in some dump off federal and atlantic. You might be better of in Wilton Manors though

Nothing but a winning record over them. Why do you think Spurrier didn't want to play the U. anymore?

Fish, are you aggrevating us Cane fans again? How have you been? Football practice starts for my son on July 30th. I got the head coach position. We got a pretty good team this year. Lotta speed and size. I took my son down to the camp. It was decent. My nephew went with us and got some attention. He's going into his junior year in high school. He ran the shuttle in 4.2, the forty in 4.6, and had a 29.5 inch vertical leap. They asked what high school he went to, so maybe they'll keep an eye on him. Holler back.

Spurrier was the reason UM was put back on the Gators schedule for the home and home that was played. UM was already off the schedule when Spurrier arrived. Get a clue before you post!

Good to hear from you Sumter! Glad to hear your son and nephew are doing so well! Glad you and the Buzzard know how to take my comments! Just having a little fun! Tell your nephew to look at UF in a couple of years if he wants to go with a winner! Would that kill you to see your nephew a Gator?
