Another loss........When will the administration realize that Shannon cannot get the team up for a game. They're great in the first series.........unprepared and no emotion........that's Shannon. Get a real coach and make him DC !!!!!!!!!!
I saw a report on ESPN that tells me we're stuck with Shannon for at least another full season: Three out of six black head coaches in Division 1A have either been fired or resigned [Ty Willingham at Washington, Sylvester Croom at Miss. State, Ron Price at Kansas State]. It doesn't matter that these guys all had years to get it done and still had mediocre teams. The stroy didn't even mention this. It's all about skin color. I wonder if this runs through the minds of ADs when they interview: Do I hire a black head coach and set myself up to get flamed by the media if he's lousy and I fire him?

Shannon was a good coordinator but he's done a poor job as head coach. He hasn't attracted/recruited the talent everyone said he would and the team does not look prepared on the field. He's got the worst record at UM since Lou Saban in the '70s

Great game, Randy! I can't wait for the Humanitarian Bowl bid. I really hope it works out for the U. Boise is beautiful this time of year! You are doing a great job - keep up the good work.

If Shannon cant build a good defense, how can he possibly build a good team? Fire him ASAP

Shannon's supposed to be a defensive guru and his defense stinks. Enough is enough. Good coaches dont take years to see improvement. Saban, Meyer,Butch Davis all had powerhouse teams in their 2nd year. Shannon's not the guy Miami needs.

TV anouncers say the stupidist things.........."no matter what happens today or in the bowl game, Randy Shannon can say that the University of Miami is back" This comment was actually said during the telecast.

Randy Shannon, i could not help but notice something yesterday, after all three picks the cameras showed you shaking your head twice when Harris got picked off yet when Marve got picked off there was no emotion from you. Could be wrong but i think you have chosen your starter for next season even though harris clearly outplayed marve this season and will no doubt beat him out in spring wht will your reason be for starting marve next ? R U PLAYING WHO YOU LIKE MORE OR WHO GIVES U A BETTER CHANCE TO WIN? TELL THE KID THE TRUTH SO HE CAN GO ELSEWHERE AND HAVE A REAL OPPORTUNITY TO FLOURISH. STOP STIFLING THE KID!

Congrats to all the Canes--It wasn't so long ago that I was reading how great this team was and when they lost all I heard was teams ran it up on them "BOO HOO"---That I article was right if you get a bowl bid and thats a "BIG IF" enjoy Boise in December--You all must be front runners--Things were going good for about 2 weeks this season (both weeks were in August) when they were practicing--If you need tickets to the National Championship Game featuring the Gators I'll try to get them for you unless Randy pulls a few strings and gets some upper deck passes for his loyal Cane fans

I think and i know most canes fans will agree that when we're in third down and harris is in the game we feel a sense of security almost knowing for sure he will convert. I know he made a terrible throw to james which got picked off but on that third and twelve he made the throw which i was almost sure he would do. My point is we have not had that since dorsey, a steady proven qb who can consistently move the chains.

I have been a canes fan for a while now and i have never seen us get so comfortable with being ok (7-5)we use to go for the kill, we were up 21-20 against state and what did we do? weplayed as if we wanted to win by 1, this type of coaching RANDY IS NOT THE HURRICANES IDENTITY. U SHOULD KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN, THE KEY! AGAIN THE KEY WE WOULD BE THRU WITH TEAMS BY EARLY THIDR QUARTER AND PUT IT OUR YOUNG BACKUPS SO BY NEXT SEASON SOPHOMORES WERE PLAYING LIKE VETS CANT U SEE THE CROCS HAVE ADOPTED OUR PHILOSOPHY. We cant do that by being an ok team we have always had talent the big difference is the amount of reps they used to get compared to now. To PROVE MY POINT just think a little while back about the amount of JUNIORS who declared and were taken in the first round. And nix, i wont say too much just that miami is not the place for U point blank!

Why does the Sun Sentinel continue to see the need to cover this excrement? The ONLY people who care about Miami football are the football players and coaches at Northwestern and a few other high schools in Dade County. That those Phi Beta Kappas can continue to buy into whatever Shannon is selling only serves to demonstrate that more tax money should be injected into Dade County Public School System.

AND what is with Shannon's expression. He looks like the 44th persom in line at a Porta Potty on Memorial Day.

Now Miami has a very good basketball team and that is where the attention should be, but this continued interest in University of Miami football is sheer craziness--except of course at Northwestern HS. Line up Men--Some more recruiting crap for you.

Amen - I thought the same thing when I heard the announcer say this ... 5-7 and 7-5 is two years of .500 football ... this is a sign that we are back? What are they watching?

Poor Defensive and Offensive line play. That is what it's all about. They can't stop the run and do not give the quarterbacks any time to throw. Add to it, they appear confused much of the time.

1. Save the rest of your scholarships for some good OL and maybe one or two more DL.
2. Get rid of whoever is your strength and conditioning coach; no improvement year over year.
3. Find yourself a RB that's atleast 6'2 that can actually break a tackle.
4. Get Aurthur B. into the game, he can't be any worse as a freshman.

Go get University of Houston's OC Dana Holgorsen, right now.

Dana Holgorsen begins his first season as the Cougars offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He comes to UH from Texas Tech where he served as the Red Raiders offensive coordinator for three seasons. Overall, he spent eight seasons in Lubbock.

Holgorsen's 2007 offense led the nation in passing (470.31 ypg) and ranked secod in total offense (529.62 ypg). The Red Raiders also ranked among the NCAA's top-10 in scoring offense (7th/40.92 ppg) and passing efficiency (5th/156.74).

Individually, quarterback Graham Harrell led the country in total offense (431.85 ypg), while Michael Crabtree led the NCAA in receptions per game (10.31) and receiving yards per game (150.92) on his way to winning the 2007 Biletnikoff Award, presented to the nation's top wide receiver. Crabtree also was a consensus All-American, being named to the First Team of the Top-Five All-America teams (AFCA, FWAA, Walter Camp, Associated Press and The Sporting News).

In his eight seasons at Texas Tech, the Red Raiders improved their total offensive numbers from 324.8 yards per game to 529.6 yards per game. The most significant increase took place in the passing game, where the Red Raiders averaged 470.3 yards per game in 2007 compared to 175.4 yards in 1999.

Holgorsen also coached the inside receivers at Texas Tech, tutoring a productive group that included Wes Welker, Danny Amendola and Robert Johnson.
