Got a kick out of the first part. OK you might have good facilities for the pac-ten. I am talking about tradition and a long tradition of winning and fan support. What you have had is one Rich donor to give you a nice facility. I don't hate Oregon by the way, the football team, would hate to live there though.<quoted text>
Not a real program?
Then why did Notre Dame and Ohio State both talk to Mike
Bellotti when they were looking for a new head coach? Mike
listened to both and elected to stay at Oregon.
I'd suggest you take a serious look at the athletic
facilities at Oregon, as they are regarded as the best
in the PAC-10. Approximately one NCAA school per week
visits the UO to tour the facilities as they consider
improvements or expansion to their own facilities.
Incidentally, if a player is seriously injured in a game
at Autzen Stadium he can get an MRI within 2 minutes of
leaving the field. They have 2 available and replace
them with new ones every 12-18 months, selling the used
units to other schools.

Its even worse in basketball than football, but its crazy that
a school would chase a coddled "blue chip" recruit ... spending
a small fortune getting him to commit ... knowing that the kid
has absolutely no interest in staying more than necessary
before the NFL (or NBA) intimates he would be drafted.
I also don't understand why it is schools take pride in being
used as a minor league franchise for the NFL. If that is the
purpose of an athletic program, lets just be honest about
it and stop this nonsense about "student athletes." Lets just
pay 'em and be up front about it.
Any NFL or NBA team that drafts a player before college graduation
should have to reimburse the university double the cost of that
kids college expenses for the years he attended the school.

Hey Duck in Portland, How'd your theory of the Buckeyes D crumbling under the awe-inspiring Oregon offense work out for you? I hope you gained a few things out of this... first, RESPECT the other team, that means don't go running your duck-bill off on another school's home newspaper website forum... second, the Big Ten really does have some pretty good defenses out there, and now your 'epic' offense has been witnessed to it... third, ACCEPT defeat, your team lost, and your convictions proved to be wrong, if you're going to go on an opponent's site and talk smack, have the gumption to go back and apologize for some of the harsh things you said and show class and congratulate those fans on a great game... finally, LEARN from your mistakes... next time, stick to the Oregon papers.
