Loosing Thaddeus hurts. However, I wish him the best of luck in the NFL. I'm sure he'll do just fine. I'm just thanking the Lord that Heyward is coming back. I Love this kid. He's a playmaker & his motor never stops. Heyward will be a 1st round draft pick after his senior season. As for Chekwa, if this kid learns to play aggressive & get some interceptions, he'll have a long career in the NFL.

Thanks Thaddeus for your hard work & dedication to the Ohio State University... Thank you Heyward & Chekwa for coming back... Can't wait to see you guys play again next season..

OSU's defense will be just as good if not even better next year. Heyward is probably has the most potential as he matured this year and shows determination on the field. Chekwa needs to stay focused, be more consistant and keep improving. Gibson should have stuck around. I can see where Gibson has felt enough is enough in the college arena and time to move on. His mind seems beyond college, he will have to grow up as the NFL is tough real world that takes adjusting too. It is nice on Sunday's to see an past OSU player doing this or doing that. " Go Beanie !"

I'm happy for Thaddeus and wish him the best. I'm also happy that Heywood and Chekwa have decided to stay. I was at the Rose Bowl and really enjoyed seeing our Buckeyes beat a good Oregon team with an agressive game plan that utilized TP's skills The Duck fans were quite cocky and really expected to beat the "slow, plodding Buckeyes". I think we and the other three top Big Ten teams showed the the national media a thing or two!

You can't blame these young men for going pro early if the money is there. Football is too violent and an injury could ruin a career. Hats off to JT for supporting his players in whatever decision they make...another bit of evidence that he cares more for them as individuals than any win he could get by pressuring them to stay. And to those who ask why would top HS prospects come to OSU? There is one of the reasons...a coach who will help you and support you beyond the game. Heywood and Chekwa will be two stong players next year and will be part of the leadership that will be needed to help get the team through winter workouts and all the hard work this offseason that will be needed to make a run for the NC. Great season guys and GO BUCKS!!

As the old Meatloaf song goes..."2 out of 3 ain't bad". I was worried all 3 might leave early. I think Thaddeus is going to kick some some tail in the NFL. And I look forward to the OSU defense having a great 2010 season with many of the starters coming back, and some young guys getting a chance to shine. Go Bucks!

Good luck Thaddeus, we appreciate your efforts. I hope you develope into a good 3-4 OLB like Woodley from Michigan (or better). With that said, next man up...Nathan Williams, Soloman Thomas, Mobley, etc... Also, Heyward could play DE and let DT John Simon start in his place.Defense will still be good regardless because of Rolle,Sabino, Homan, Torrence, Heyward, Simon, Williams, Lattimore, Hines,etc...

In re: Chekwa, he has no business thinking NFL right now. Why? Lets look at the facts. First and foremost, poor technique. Chekwa may have the physical ability to stay with receivers at the next level, however, he has poor technique in coverage. More specifically, Chekwa consistently fails to get his head turned around to locate the ball on downfield throws. He is then not in position to make a play on the ball, and winds up getting called for interference or giving up a catch. This happened repeatedly in the Iowa game this year, and once in the Rose Bowl. Until technique is sound and second nature, NFL receivers would eat him alive, and NFL scouts are sure to shy away from a project at corner. Another year at OSU will be good for Chekwa to work on technique and his ball skills.

Gibson will hurt, but with Heyward stepping his game up and Chekwa should improve, I see them being the top 3 in the nation as far as defense goes. This is going to be a great year...good luck Gibson, we look forward to seeing you dominate on Sundays!

Contrast how Tressel handles this situation each year with the petty, embarassing tirade Pete Carroll threw last year when sc's Mark Sanchez declared.

Instead of supporting him, Carroll held his own press conference to criticize Sanchez and predicted he wouldn't be successful. What a cheap, low-class thing to do. As an aside, Sanchez had a pretty good rookie year for the Jets.

Tress is a classy guy and a great coach.

Best of luck to Mr. Gibson, I enjoyed watching him play and feel he will bring many a headache to opposing NFL quaterbacks.

Good Luck, Thaddeous. You will be a monster in a 3-4 defense, and I think you are ready. I am very excited to see Cameron and Chimdi stay. As good as Gibson has been, those two are the cornerstones of next years defense, with Rolle and Homan. I think next year's Buckeyes are going to be special! Go Bucks!
