Other than the title game,The Rose Bowl matchup will be the most exciting...

I'm fully confident that the Bucks D will seriously crimp the 30 point plus a game average of the Ducks offense.

They will not be able to stop our ground game, which will be boring, but necessary for victory.

Run Saine outside the tackles!
"Boom" the insides!
Get Martin in to bulldoze...
Get to Masoli...

ps-Who is doing kickoffs & punts now that Small has messed up again?

I bet $50 on the ducks to cover. I sure hope Art Schlichter pays up if I win.

It is not likely that Oregon will have much success running the ball on OSU. The facts of this years play in the PAC 10 are that this is a pretty weak conference of run defenses - Oregons strength i.e. it was pretty easy for Oregon to run the ball this year. And the BIG 10 in contrast has exceptional defensive teams in Iowa, PSU and OSU. And I find it fascinating that Purdue put 400 rushing yards and over 40 min time of possession on Oregon. If Oregons offensive line cannot block OSU's defensive front in the first quarter then this gane could well go a lot different than most people think.

What in the name of Woody has happened to the OSU punt game? If Tressel really believes it's the most important play in Football, he should bench Thoma and let someone else do it!...this guy isn't getting it done!!!

The team appears to be ready and up for the game. I am confident that somewhere within each player is the awareness and the pride that "we are Ohio State, we are Buckeyes."

I haven't heard anybody saying it was a glorified scrimmage. I think you're reaching a little too far for an angle.

On the other hand, it's a bit ironic that the "winningest class in school history" has never won a bowl game. It would be nice to see Ohio State acquit themselves better in bowl games. I'd hate to see them lose to the likes of Oregon. Let's go win this one, Buckeyes.

This is the game for me. Not that interested in the "title game" really. I'm sure it will be just another overhyped exercise in boredom and endless commercials. The Rose Bowl is the one.

Just wondering, is Uncle Phil covering all bets placed by Duck fans?
If the Buckeyes can establish their run game early, the Oregon defense
will be playing Duck AND cover. Yeah, that was bad, but you read it.
Hopefully for you it's not duck season in Wisky country because I
hear those cheese heads are pretty good hunters.

If Tressel is coach, the Bucks will not win a BCS bowl game. His offensive style is offensive.

To me this is the most intriguing game of the bowl season. TCU Boise State is put together so teams like Florida , and Texas do not get embarrassed. I do think TCU could handle Florida and Texas. That would send the BCS system off a cliff. A great defense will always keep it close. Oregon has a high power offense. OSU has a great defense with a great speed rush in the DE spot. OSU's D line will; close the running lanes making the RB's to make more cuts and find lanes. Dont look for Oregon to be that successful running the ball as they are used to. I would bet that OSU will out rush Oregon. Blount will be no factor in this game what so ever. I would be surprised if he rushed for more than 45 yards and James with 70.

Pac 10 is lookig mighty weak in bowl games thus far. If OSU plays mistake free football, watch Oregon turn the ball over a couple of times and O State wins. Go Bucks - cook those quackers!

Ducks by half time will exceed tOSU's D GAME avg of rushing yards [+100] and scoring [+12.5]. I agree Blount will be a non-factor as he will not get very many carries as James will get the majority and +100.
What if Ducks play mistake free and tOSU has turnovers?
How about this insight, the teams that scores the most will win!

As an Oregon fan, I have the upmost respect for OSU and concern in this match up. This is probably a bigger game for the Ducks, OSU has been on bigger stages several times. We had one oppotunity in 2001, but the BcS chose nebraska to play miami the last time we won the pac-10 instead of the Ducks, probably because we ranked second in both polls and didnt lose to colorado by 30. Will somebody back east convince these gentlemen that we can still have 34 bowl games, but instead of 33 meaningless ones, we can reduce that number to 19 and get a 16 team playoff going so nobody needs to dispute strength of conference/schedule etc.. All conferences, including the SEC, have weekness throughout. OSU is, and always will be, a dominant power. Oregon is an upcoming program that under this coaching staff seams to create offensive concepts that are original, but may struggle defensively against a power running game. To trash either team just means you dont meet the IQ 80 minimum.
16 teams
15 games that matter
a rediculous amount of $ to guarantee the conferences at least what they get now and more for others.
7 major conference champions get automatic bid,9 at large.
first game home game for higher seed.
that leaves you 7 "bowl games" to find a true champ.
this year, both schools are in.
8 is not enough.

CharlieRock, you just made me respect Oregon fans a lot more. I agree with your playoff system wholeheartedly...... unfortuneately we won't see it. Too much money, we don't see, flying into Conference Presidents pockets to get a true National Champion each year. Only sport collegiate or professional where the champion isn't determined on the field.

As for the game, it will be very interesting to see your run game aginst our D. If our D is on it's game you won't see nearly as many broken tackles as you normally do, one thing the Silver Bullets do really well is tackle, not a lot of YAC. Should be the most intriguing matchup of the bowl season.
