He was just joking about meeting for drinks in my East HollyWoodland Hood.

My wife says my problem is that I pay TOO much attention to history.

I grew up in the suburbs where all the A students went to UCLA, B to CSUN, C to L.A. Pierce. I'm about the only one who went right to USC. And everyone ribbed me about going to school in 'Watts'.

Truth is, I wouldn't trade it. It was an integral part of my becoming a man, looking the locals in the eye and smiling.

Now the area is enjoying another round of renaissance, and I hope it sticks.

I sure don't begrudge you schooling in Westwood, no doubt that's fine.

Cheers!

Ah come on Rob, I think I already invited you and MBD over to grab a cocktail at the Tiki Ti....
That place is old school, run by the family of an original Trader Vic's mixoligist. The bar is usually standing room only, which means about 20 people, since the joint is in a 100ish sq.ft. hut which used xto be a violin store.
I must have missed the invite, I think I've driven by that place, got torches out front? what street is that on?

Sunset, a couple blocks from where Hollywood merges in, near KCET.

I can walk there from home, but only stagger back...

No sir, you have never invited me...it was someone else...but I'm down, Brew-in now has back-up in case we get ambushed, I believe MBD would join us as well and a few others.
It was an informal suggestion while a few were talking about meeting up - if not you two, then CPEM and Trojan or what not. But I think everyone was more focussed on where CB was going to be.

Can't say I blame them....

But hey, we can give it a go, brothers.

Indeed, I've just been trying to get to know the regulars, while I've been chasing the trolls away.

You'll really be tilting at windmills in that endeavor. They're like flies: you open the door to chase one out and 100 more come flooding in.

This is the nineties...I've figured out a way to attach fly swatters to the panes for the windmill...very sustainable that way....
