A real head-slapper

Full story: Baltimore Sun

The Ravens sure are mad at both. They are sure they got jobbed twice on that one play, the Terrell Suggs blow-to-the-head personal foul that wasn't a blow to the head, and the false start that should have ...

Raven's fans can piss and moan all they like about the call, but they seemed to forget the 3 personal fouls they got away with, the personal foul called on Haynesworth who made contact with no one, and the interception by Thorton who obviously had full control that was called back.

And Titans fans can cheer all they want about being "5-0", but you know and I know that the Ravens beat that sorry a$$ of yours all damn game, until the refs felt like they had to protect the NFL's ratings by still having an undefeated Titans team, and gave them that BS call.

You shouldn't be talking about Ravens fans complaining, when your punk a$$ defense couldn't even get along amongst THEMSELVES on the field. Finnegan is a punk, plain and simple, and it seems to me that even his teammates know it.

The Ravens, by all rights, should be 4-0 right now. Hell, minus one hurricane, we'd probably be 5-0 right now. Even WITH our rookie QB who's only managed to throw ONE TD in 4 games. But hey....f**k it. Congratulations on your "win", hope you don't get your hopes up about "going all the way" though.

Call it what it was: A bullsh*t call...and then a failure to respond to adversity.
PS. What's with the failure to pressure/sack the QB ever... EXCEPT the Suggs play.

I agree.....where are these NFL receivers? Heap, especially.
He looks pathetic: dropped balls, poor routes, a no-show.

This was a total team loss. The special teams let us down (poor coverage and field goal missed), the offense (Flacco) made poor decisions, the defense let the Titans waltz down the field on the last drive, and the coaching staff blew points at the end of the 1st half by not calling a timeout with 42 seconds left after gaining a 1st down on the 22 yard line. Instead, we wasted 28 seconds trying to get lined up and ended up with an illegal procedure call anyway. 28 SECONDS!!!!! That's enough time to run 3 or 4 more plays depending on getting out of bounds or spiking the ball. I'm not one to buy into blaming the refs, I'm sorry. Yes, it was a marginal call, but there are more than enough chances for us to win yesterday to blame it on the refs.

The Ravnes defense FAILED when it counted. That's why they lost. Blame the officials if you feel you need to, but after the Suggs penalty, Collins connected on pass after pass on the way to a Titans touchdown.

THAT's why Baltimore lost.

the photos of the call on Suggs clearly shows contact to Collins helmet. The refs made a good call & the right call!! stop enabling the whining!! The Ravens & the Sun writers need to grow up & stop acting like little CRYBABIES!!!!!

The replay also clearly shows Suggs being blocked. What would you expect a defensive person to do? Oh, I'm being blocked I must stop playing. No, that was a awful call that changed the game. Still, the Defense did let us down. Sure we can stop the run but our linebackers could not stop the underneath passes. It was just pitiful. A whole game of dominance squashed.

As a Houston Oiler, Tennessee Titan fan who knows and respects the Ravens, would say, shutup and take your lumps !! You were beat by a superior team and might have a shot at us in the playoffs. Officials blew several calls on both sides of the ball, and ease up on Collins, giving him credit after the Suggs penalty.....but trashing him before the penalty. What he pulled off, after the penalty shows that the Old Man, still has some play and smarts about him, and came out a winner ! Ya'll didnt blow it, you were BEAT !! GO TITANS!!

It's no different then I said last week. The Defensive Secondary is average at best. No WR's, and a Rookie QB who looks like one. I hope this is not a bad Omen. The Ravens wanted Palmer, but had to settle for Boller. The Ravens wanted Ryan, and had to settle for Flacco. I hope I am wrong.

Flacco has one passing TD in 4 games and you know what the rookie QB is not the limiting factor in the passing game. Plain and simple the Ravens need some big fast deep threat WR and must score more pts if they want to win. I've given up on Heap every returnign to All Pro form. Harbaugh needs to stop being so conservative before the half. The defense has only given up 3 Tds in 4 games, sorry but when you don't score enough pts to put teams away, 13 pts beat you again how can you blame the defense! The passing game is not about Flacco improving, altho I think he can, its about the Ravens front office acquiring some play makers at WR. Flacco can improve some this season but its wait til next yr to upgrade WRs.

I accept the loss completely;Titans have a decent team.In fact, their D reminded me of the Ravens with their behavior at times.I like Jeff Fisher but they need a qb for the future. Is V. Young the answer?Might be a head case.

2 fields goals - one missed at 45, one not attempted at 54 - would have one the game. We need someone who can make field goals past 40 yards!

I think it is quite obvious by now that we are in "dire" need of
a field goal kicker and "kick-off" player. It should be noted ,by any
person watching the game that Matt Stover is not the kicker he once was.He is a great person but, I can see where the team
does not have a whole lot of confidence in his kicking anymore.
Sorry Matt, but, I think it is time for your replacement to come on board.

Finally a column that acknowledges that although that roughing the penalty call was very shaky, if not downright wrong, the real blame should go to the defense for being unable to keep the Titans out of the end zone. And some credit should go to Collins, who proved that even on a day on which he struggled badly most of the way, he can still make a big throw or two when it counts.

The funny part about trashing Kerry Collins, Super Bowl loss or no, is that other than rent-a-player Steve McNair, Collins still is easily a better QB than anyone who has ever suited up for the Ravens.
