To prevent errors such as the call during the Ravens-Titans game, why doesn't the NFL use a "shot clock" buzzer like the NBA does?

Seems like a simple enough way to prevent the problem. This way the human element is taken out of it and it would cost next to nothing.

Whether the error was due to human error or some grand conspiracy theory (there have been some doozies since this happened), it seems that paying someone to stand there and literally watch a clock is kind if silly and a waste of money.

Sounds more like a Public Works kind of job.

For the really dense ones out there, you could even have the clock begin to display negative numbers or change colors if it runs over.

Did anyone else think there should have been a safety called on Baltimore when it looked like Flacco stepped out of bounds in the endzone on the 3rd down play? They never showed a replay, but it definitely looking like he stepped out as he threw and there should have been a safety on that play.

Steelers over Eagles in the SB.

If Chris Johnson hadn't been injured Titans would have won

But they didn't. They turned the ball over 3 times in the redzone and committed several penalties. As a result, they lost.

Just keep telling yourself that until have performed enough self therapy to get over the loss.

Bottom line: They got BEAT. Baltimore is playing next week. Tennessee plays next September.

Well, I ain't exactly crying over it, LOL.
I thought the Titans had great drives and passes in spite of the penalties and injuries on both sides. Johnson can really jump, might have made the difference on the long and high passes...just like Plaxico "Glockpants" and the Giants game.
At any rate, a tough and tight game.

CBS and Boomer Esiason showed the replay. Not even close to stepping out. What you saw was Flacco's foot on the painted "Titans" logo. Half on and half off. It looked like he was out of bounds but the true OOB white line was a good foot away. Kind of an optical illusion. Conspiracy theory thwarted. next?

and if Frogs had wings they could fly, but they don't and he didn't. Ravens knocked him out. He is like the 4th RB this year not wanting any part of the Ravens in the second half, hiding on the sidelnes. Typical.

First of all, I know the difference between the team logo and the out of bounds line. The live angle made it look like he stepped on the line in the back of the endzone. I didn't see the replay or an alternate angle, so maybe he didn't. But watching it live, it definitely looked like he stepped out.

I never claimed "conspiracy," so you thwarted nothing. There is no conspiracy in the NFL. That's just stupid.

sure you know the difference, eveyone does, what I said was the opitcal illusion of it all created the doubt in your mind. He was not even close. End of story.

What a war that was!(ravens/titans)
That was a heated, physical game if I ever saw one. The PIT: penalties, injuries, turnovers
In the end, they were all what cost the Titans the game.

This weekend it proved difficult for QBs.
Look at how inefficient they all were.
If I had to rate QBs this weekend, hardly anyone would be above 80.0
McNabb, Warner, Flacco, Big Ben were the victors.
Flacco probably had the best game. The rookie!
It definitely wasn't McNabb. Not sure how good Warner and Ben looked, but they did look better than all the losers. Eli was throwing passes that waved like a presidential nominee, Delhomme looked like a frustrated old man, Rivers sucks anyway, and Collins was dog meat.
I think this is a growing trend.
The defensive powers on remaining teams will be the difference.

The 3rd Qtr everyone was giving up on Titan's defense. Well, they were all dropping off injuries. I would not call them the Tennessee Titanics yet

I finally saw a replay today from a better angle. He may not have stepped out, but it was very close. He may have stayed inbounds by an inch or two. The refs probably got it right, but it was close and CBS messed up by not even discussing it or showing a replay when it happened.

where've you been at? CBS had noted replay problems during the entire first half. Always a glitch technically when the Ravens play on national TV.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Aries

Don't get embroiled in a bad-tempered skirmish today, for it might turn into more than that if you aren't careful. Everyone seems to be ratty and argumentative, but once you let the first spat take place it's effectively declaring open season. Even though things seem out-of-joint, keep your lines of communication open.
