Monte Poole: Big Ben's latest issue shows it's all about wins
Many if not most Raiders fans are unhappy with JaMarcus Russell , believing the quarterback is too complacent, too poorly conditioned and too careless with the football.

What a stupid article. It reminds me of a George Will political column--nothing but passive-aggressive dithering without any discernible point behind it. He seems to be claiming that Steeler fans mostly blame Big Ben for the disappointing season, and our anger with him now is a reflection of that. What...a...crock...of...SHIT!! Anyone knowledgable about football (and that describes 90% of us) knows that Ben had a monster year. Any list of complaints I've seen from Steelers fans has about 30 items listed before any complaints about the QB's production. The reason we're angry, by and large, is that he just signed a staggeringly large contract, and with that kind of investment comes responsibility. Big Ben simply no longer HAS THE RIGHT to behave like a reckless, arrogant party animal night after night. He owes the Rooneys--and us--more than that.
As for trading him to the Raiders: If they offered us their next two 1st-round picks, Darren McFadden and the CB with the unpronounceable African name, I'd think about it.

Barry, let me explain it to you. Whatever you think of the health care bill, the idea that the Democrats would salvage some kind of political advantage in November by voting down their own attempt at reform is absolute absurdity. Only someone mainlining FOX News 24/7 could possibly believe it. If you hysterical teabaggers are right, and society collapses in the next few months, then you'll all vote Republican--just as you would have had the measure failed. And if it in fact, improves the lot of many Americans and ultimately starts to actually HELP the economy (as the CBO says it will), then you'll still march around with your "Government Hands Off My Medicare!!" sign and vote Republican, but it won't matter, because the Democrats will benefit from being seen as a party that can actually accomplish something.

the government wants their hands on more of your money. i am happy to give them as much as they want. i trust them with everything before the democrats care about me, the little guy. they are exempt from their own laws, but they deserve it. after all they know whats right for me. they are better than me because they are public SERVANTS. they will not lose the elections even though most of the public is against them. they fight for ME. they will save us all.
