Interesting stuff. A lot of it will come down to what happens on draft day (Hawk's not going anywhere unless they draft a starter to replace him, and Jones could very well net a second or third rounder via trade on draft day) but I don't see any way the Packers cut Charlie Peprah. For the price of his salary, he's a heck of a backup and fill-in starter, though he's never going to be a long term starter.

especially since McCarthy already said if Nick Collins was my son,i wouldnt let him play and the cats out of the bag.TT and MM are both extrememly concerned about letting him play,in short if the DR. GIVE Collins the ok to play,TT and MM may not let it happen in GB.So Pepprah may be even more valuable now.
I can see if Robert Francois steps up big or if they do sign Brandon Chilar or a young LB impresses,i can see them trading Hawk to save cap space since they have some big signing coming up.Hawk does call the plays on defense and doesnt get the credit, since hes a upper 1st round pick and doesnt make highlight film plays, but, he does a steady job, makes his 100 tackles or so a year and if he were a lower 1st rounder,he would be considered a real good p.u. for the Packers but since he was an upper 1st rounder,he gets bagged a bit, but, again, with Mathews,Raji,Jennings,Rodgers coming up the money has to come from somewhere.

The Eagles may take a 4th round pick for Assante Samuel. Got any cap room?

I would think since they had 9M or so before Jeff Saturday and his 2M,then they signed Daniel Muir,a dn a few other 2nd tier with low cap figures,id figure around 3-4M range left, but, thats my guess and if they were up against it,im sure CC would be asked for a cap relief cut or DD.They are still interested in Dave Tollefson as well and hes in town.If his cap number is a million or so.I think they are ok at this point and again there are still a few folks to take a cap hit,or if Nick Collins retires thats a whole new problem which can be addressed with a roster move like Woodson or the draft.

It's just that simple, is it? haha On your earlier post, Francois played well as long as he wasn't in coverage. He got exposed in that first Giants game. Trading Hawk is a bad idea for two reasons, first the reasons you state and second, we'd get considerably less than his value in return. I don't know what people want from an ILB that Hawk doesn't give. Fitting new guys into Capers' system takes time, also. Hawk and Woodson hold that thing together, while Matthews and Raji are freak talents. I guess that's why they are filling in with bargain veterans right now.

Jamarie Lattimore!!! thats the guy i was trying to refer to as well as Robert Francois.Anyway,Point was if they do have a player step up in the middle,Hawk can be expendable if need be.I to like Hawk, hes done a solid job in the middle, calls the defensive plays and although not a highlight film LB,he has made plays and shows up nearly every game.I think your right,Mathews and Raji are freaks and will cost a ton of cash so hence the tier 2 FA but the fact TT signed 3 FA ( 2 in 1 day,and 1 the day back from the GM Meetings) and they are talking to 2 more,so TT is aggressive surprisingly, but, not going after the big names, but some solid players. Anthony Hargrove played ok for N.O. but rode the bench in Seattle and he has been on 4 teams in a young career,so much like Brandon Marshall, comes with baggage, heres to hoping both players can get their personal lives together..AH missing 08 after failing a drug test,BM with his mental issues and depression ect.
