After reading this column this morning I have become a huge Northland fan. To all the young guys on the team, I'll just say this -- you have the absolute right attitude. Apply that fire, determination, and will toward your everyday life and fellas let me tell ya, if you do that... the payoff will be enormous.

You will "get out of here" and then some.

I'm glad my tax money is paying for them to get a ride to practice so their mothers don't have to pay.

I am just curious as to why someone living on the eastside is attending Northland?

Neighborhood schools would solve all of these issues, build pride in the community, and still provide as mentioned a way out. It seems as though the simplest is the most complicated!

And I'm glad my tax money is paying for your streets to be repaired, your trash to be picked up, your Police & Fire to come to your aid, your food to be inspected so you don't get poisoned, and your military to protect you.

As for this kid taking the bus, did it ever occur to you that maybe his mother is working and has a job that doesn't pay much (so she can't buy him a car)-- and doesn't allow her to just leave work to take her son to practice?

I want to believe that your mind isn't as narrow as your earlier comment reveals it to be, but based on some of the various mind-numbing comments that appear each day on the Dispatch website, I'm pretty sure you're the real deal.

WOW is all that I can say. My meager HS playing career was a piece of cake compared to what these guys do every day just getting to practice. Good Luck to all these guys!

Because one, open enrollment. Two..the home schools in that area, South, walnut ridge, east and Marion-franklin aren't the best of schools. Northland's academics is better then those schools. I will say Marion-franklin is trying to get up there.

Hopefully you are going to Northland than those neighborhood schools you are ripping because your grammar and punctuation sucks. Their academics ARE better not IS. Get back to the books and off the computer, cell phone, or X-Box. Make all of us proud.

Tooson may be a "good man" as you suggest, but he is a inept coach. In short, it is well past time that he resign.
