Athletes should play by ALL of the rules, not just the ones that they choose. What would happen if a batter decided that he deserved 4 strikes at the plate instead of 3? Or a basketball player deciding that instead of a 3-pointer, it should be a 5-pointer? Rules are rules- the rules that govern athletes outside the lines are just as important as those that govern within them.

They make enough money so that the rules don't have to apply to them. Why bother playing by the rules when you can obviously get by in breaking them?
