Full story: Newsday

Free agency begins at midnight and the Jets, coming off a miserable 4-12 season, should be among the most active shoppers in the league.

We need players but MUST not overpay for above average talent. If we pay 10-11 mil for Asante, or a rediculous amount for Fanica, that can hurt us in the long run. Tanny has to to be smart about these contracts. We realy need an OL-men in FA, and I can see paying Fanica, but how about Gay instead of an overpriced Asante.
The draft is the key, there is a lot of good talent in the draft, I believe a good draft with 4-5 top 75 players(with some luck), will set us up for years.

I got it now

1.Get Fanica
2. Trade Vilma/plus a 3rd or with derob and get Jenkins or Rogers for the NT ( do a background check and make sure they havent slapped/mugged anybody recently)
3.Gay or another steady CB in FA(if cost effective)
4. Draft Gholston
5. Look for a big WR.
6. Hit needs in the rest of the draft

Yeah we have some money to spend. Are the guys making the decisions smart enough to know how to spend it ? You can draw you're own conclusion. Everything on this team needs to be addressed but without an offensive and defensive line you have nothing. Woody wake up and hold their feet to the fire.

true they panicked and signed Fabini and Mawua to big contracts after losing Mckenzie to the Giants and Randy to the the Redskins 4 years ago. Not sure why dumping players not suitable for the 3-4 is the answer. Robertson and Vilma will star for a 4-3 team.
The Giants showed how getting a Def coordinator that will play the scheme
that's best for the players can make a diffrence. They went from a lay back in zones to an attacking defense. still waiting for man-genious to show those multiple fronts and attacking D we thought was coming with him

Maybe the Jets will be good enough to play Rutgers in a BCS bowl game this year.

Once again I will say I would love to see Mangini try the 4-3 and employ Vilma with Harris. With Vilma's side to side speed and Harris"s tackling ability it would be one of the best Line backing corps in the NFL. If only would could get Mangini to finally realize he is coaching the Jets and not the Pats.As for this if he has another 4-12 kick him to the curb.

The front office screwed up letting Kendall go, Mangini is screwing up with his inability to switch back to the 4-3. I cant wait to see how badly they screw up the draft/free agent signing period. But I dont care about the Jets. I am a Giant fan and no matter what the Jets do this offseason, or any other team for that matter, the GIANTS ARE GONNA REPEAT.

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Libra

Get out and about whenever possible today. You're feeling energized and will want to keep active at every opportunity. Leave the car at home if you can and walk to your destination instead, or have a brisk walk in your lunch-hour. It will be even better if you can take a brief holiday from your usual routine and find some different surroundings for a change.
