While I'm glad the Ravens won I feel we need to put this in the proper perspective. They beat a very mediocre team. Actually of their 7 wins 5 have been against teams with losing records and 2 against so so teams. They have yet to show they can beat the Colts, Tennessee, Giants and of course their nemesis the Steelers, all losses this year. Until they show they can do that on a CONSISTENT basis than as far as I see the Steelers are still the class of the AFC North and the Ravens are just wannabees. They have to display the dynasty quality of which in 13 years they have yet to do nor am i sure they ever will.

I don't want to sound like a poor sport, because a loss is a loss, but if I recall correctly, both the Steelers and Titans games were affected by questionalbe calls from the officials. I know the Titans game was, by the call against Suggs for hitting Collins in the helmet, when in fact, it was his shoulder pad. I could be wrong about the Steelers game. But they weren't destroyed by the Steelers. They went to overtime, IN Pittsburgh.

As another poster said, not sure what birds you are a fan of. Must be seahawks, eagles, or the DoDO birds! You are obviously not a Ravens fan. You need to go elsewhere to spread you crap! This Ravens team stood toe to toe with the Steelers and Titans. One call in each game by refs, and this is not crying over spilt milk as what's done is done, but anyone who watched those games not it is true. And anyone can have a bad game from time to time. Do you really think the Giants would loose a a rematch with the Browns? These Ravens are for real, and they will make the playoffs this year.

If I agreed with you I'd still have to point out...it's hard for the Steelers to be the "class" of the division when we basically split with them all time. They would actually have to dominate us to earn that distinction.

I just love folks saying the "class of the division"
There is no "class" team this year. Everyone is beatable. Pitt has more than their share of problems, most notably the o line that will eventually catch up with them. The Giants are good. Not GREAT. The Colts can be had but its about matchups(you have to score 24 or more) The Titans? Please. That ship has sailed. They will struggle against real defenses, so put up 17 or more and win.
The Ravens have as good a chance as any if they stay healthy and protect the ball. The most encouraging sight to me yesterday was Trevor Pryce. If he can return to form we can drop more into coverage and get our D off the field.

They beat a team that beat Pittsburgh.
Just what do they have to do to get just a little respect?

Gaither is a real "gamer", and I would bet you he got one heck of a lot of respect from his teamates with his old school gutsy performance Sunday, I know he got my respect! If we have more players like him who play when a little banged up we would be better off, get rid of the Todd Heaps who can't play with a hangail and get more Gaither's. I know Harbaug had to love it and so did his teamates , sure hop eall the fans appreciated it as much as I did! Kudos Mr. Gaither you are a throw back and should be proud of it!!!!!

Sorry Frank, you're way off, the Giants are a GREAT team. They've lost 1 game since 12/30/07. They have the best O Line in the NFL, the best pass rush, and the best running game.

I also think it's wishful thinking to say Tennessee's ship has sailed.

agree with ACE, although Tennessee is NOT as good as their record indicates. At home Ravens will beat them. Giants on the other hand ARE for real. Ravens would/will need to bring their A game to win against them. Only Indy, Pittsburgh, and Dallas can stand up & possibly unseat them.

Speaking of jocks, how great was the Barnes tackle of Westbrook? That had to hurt

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Taurus

Someone is very short-tempered, and they're liable to fly off the handle at a moment's notice. Maybe they're feeling vulnerable in some way or are desperately trying to defend what they see as their territory. Be sensitive to this and don't goad them into being even more irritable or upset than they are already. Frankly, it's just not worth it.
