The Ravens are Overrated...WAY overrated...Ray Lewis is a blow hard. His age is catching up to him unlike Seau, Bruschi, Vrabel and Harrison at this point. The Patriots will show up for that game for sure.

the patriots can get away with an older linebacker core because they play as a team. none of them are asked to do anything other than what they can and they all do what they have to do. its a team sport and ray lewis can lead the league in tackles and sacks for all i care because his team has a 4-7 record. i will take a 95 year old linebacker as bob roberts called seau who is helping contribute to an undefeated season, over ray lewis and his losing team. last i checked good defense almost always beats good offense, as shown when the pats played the eagles, and a 4-7 record doesnt sound like their defense is doing their job.

just as a point of fact:
Ravens have been without their starting secondary most of the year. Look at their losses, they give up the big pass because they are often playing the second or even third string. When they have been in they haven't been 100% healthy.
Also, the offense has a nasty habit of turning the ball over within 30 yards or so of their own endzone. NO defense can handle that.
Yes, the Ravens have underachieved all year. Their starting quarterback went from world beater to Methusala in one offseason. Their ProBowl tight end has been hurt, John Ogden has been hurt and not playing well all year and for some reason, NO ONE can hold onto the damn ball!
The NFL is all about ups and downs. Don't get too comfortable with that NE juggernaut. Everything goes in cycles, and you can't build a dynasty in this NFL (although, to give them their due, the Pats are close).

3 superbowls in four years was how the cowboys and 49ers were classified as dynasties. its harder now to do it with the salary cap so in some ways the pats are better than those teams. bottom line is any team that can win 3 in four years is a dynasty, period. give them their due because if they win it again this year you will be saying "they arent a dynasty till they win 5."
they are the best team so far in the decade winning half the superbowls since the millenium and came within 2 minutes of the bowl last year. thats a dynasty in anyone's book.

What is your definition of a dynasty?

Green Bay 1967-8 2 in 2 yrs

Pittsburgh 1975-76 1979-80 4 in 6 yrs

San Francisco 1982 85 89 90 4 in 8 yrs

Dallas 1993-94 1996 3 in 4 yrs

Denver 1998-99 2 in 2 yrs

New England 2002 2004-05 3 in 4 yrs

By any standard they should already be a dynasty

The question should be how long they stay on top.

Who says the pats are on top? They are only on top of the afc east which is a weak division. The colts are defending SB champs and the Steelers own the trophy for the previous year. The pats were on top 3 years ago. This year they're just another team heading into the playoffs. A team that appears to have peaked a little early if the past two weeks play is anything to go by. The Steelers are going to kick the dogsh!t out of the pats this Sunday. LET'S GO BLACK AND GOLD!!!!
Ermm So far this year they are undefeated,#1 seed in the AFC.

How much more on top can a team get? Please explain

what you did last year has no bearing on where you stand this year. the pats have a three game advantage for homefield advantage throughout because they beat the so called champs in their own house and the steelers cant win on the road against bad teams. maybe you should see that just because they blew out teams early doesnt mean they arent a great team now. great teams find a way to get it done, and even the biggest powerhouses have a low point during the season. at least the pats dont actually lose to those bad teams like the steelers have this year. i guess you dont know the difference between college and pro because if you did, you would know that a win is a win in the pros and the pats have done nothing but win. end of story. its also good for them to play close games and come from behind to keep their mindstate where they have been all year...in the playoff mode.
