There, Fresno State had the ball first and failed to move it. Goessling lined up for a 40-yard field goal, but missed it wide left. However, Hawaii's Calvin Roberts hit Goessling after the kick for a 5-yard penalty. This time, Goeesling pushed the 35-yarder wide right.

Auspicious One says-Happy UH win-make lots of $$$ last nite. Referee gave kicker 2nd chance to make field goal after questionable call. Kicker is playing at home and not UH. The chances of him missing field goal is suspect.
Also quarterback play was suspect, going from defeating UCLA to losing to UH with 6 turnovers, even after UH cannot capitalize after the turnovers is highly suspect. Point spread was particularly low, now i know why.

Hawai'i played to the level of WAC defending champion and out-hustled the Bulldogs. Fresno's problem is that they let the national ranking get to into their heads again and the Bulldogs simply lost the game. Pat Hill should offer no excuses. Boise State and Hawai'i were able to break into the BCS bowls which something that will continue to elude the Bulldogs.

year in and year out the bulldogs are overrated. yes they do beat strong teams every year but they cannot beat the mediocre teams. not to say uh is mediocre because they shouldve beat san jose st. last week. now the question is....... can uh beat boise st.? i say yes. boise st. doesnt have the big bruising backs like fresno st. has and the uh defence is strong as ever. go warriors! to funaki.........just believe in yourself and be the all state player that you are. special teams did a hell of a job!

I think the FG attempts were so close to the uprights that the misses were not intentional. What were those 2 penalty calls though? Looks like refs were trying to make sure FS won.

Same old, same old! We can lose to anyone, anywhere, antyime. Fresno State is a paper bulldog. Pat Hill told me personally at one of his radio shows a few years back that sports
psychology "is a lot of bs." There you have it.
Hill is such a fixture in Fresno that he never will be fired - too bad.

From a betrayed fan.
