1 It's great that he can pay he debts...you know if he didn't, WE'D have to! I also think it's a slap in the face to the NFL. Maybe they'll think twice next time about being so generous to another thug player. It doesn't matter how much he'll earn....he'll spend it ALL on bling and cars and end up losing it the next time he goes to jail. |

As part of his Chapter 11 bankruptcy plan approved in August of 2009, Vick has liabilities of $20.4 million and has begun liquidating assets worth $9 million. Three homes, seven cars, and two boats are among the things Vick has had to sell — or try to sell in a down real-estate market — to pay creditors. He certainly wanted to take care of the people close to him. Vick — and the friends and family he tried to outfit in automobiles — drove Land Rovers, Cadillac Escalades and Mercedeses, among others. His eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom gated-community home on a lake in Duluth, Ga., remains for sale, listed at $3.45 million. The creditors have a choice just ahead of them. They're going to have a SIX-YEAR WINDOW to get approximately $20 million from Vick as part of the bankruptcy agreement that should be finalized later this year when a trustee is appointed by the court. That bankruptcy trustee will set the clock on Vick's payments, starting with either his 2009 or 2010 income. The bankruptcy trustee can include Vick's $1.6 million salary from the Eagles this season, or gamble that he's got six better financial years ahead of him after this one. Next season, for instance, Vick is due to make $5.2 million from the Eagles, with incentives that could raise it. Vick agreed to pay creditors on a sliding scale, based on his income. On everything below $750,000, he pays 10 percent. Then he will pay 25 percent of income between $750,000 and $2.5 million, 30 percent for between $2.5 million and $10 million, and 40 percent of anything above $10 million. Money owed:$20.4 million over a 6 year period. Minus $16 million bonus the Falcons filed on. Next, a former marketing agent, Andrew Joel — hired and let go before Vick ever played an NFL game — successfully sued Vick over a contract under which Vick was supposed to pay him 25 percent of his marketing deals. That suit helped push Vick into bankruptcy. Joel is now Vick's biggest creditor, owed over $4.5 million. On Vick's "sliding scale", he still owes $1,350,00 to Joel. He owes about $3.6 million in fees to attorneys and others who represented him and a creditors' committee during the bankruptcy process and dog fighting trial. On Vick's "sliding scale", he still owes $1,080,000 to his attorneys. The next debtor among the creditors is the Royal Bank of Canada, which wants $2.5 million for a loan on which Vick defaulted for a car dealership. On Vick's "sliding scale", he still owes $750,000 to Royal Bank of Canada. Vick said he met Mary Wong of Omaha, Neb., in May of 2007 through a former Falcons teammate, Demorrio Williams. " invested some money with her in July of 2007, in the amount of $500,000 and she told me it would be invested in some type of bank investment... What was promised was a 10 percent return. It was never put in writing, but that's what she told me." Vick said he never received any of that $500,000 back. A civil suit filed in January 2009 also alleges that Wong made a transfer of $650,000 from Vick's bank account into a company account she controlled. A sum of $125,000 has been returned by Wong and the company to Vick and placed in an escrow account, the suit says. So he gets $125,000 in escrow. He owes debtors $3,180,000 to be paid over SIX YEARS. He's getting $1,600,000 this year and his BET show (rumored to be between $500,000 and $750,000). He is not guarnteed any of the $5,200,000 until After January 31, 2010. If they pick up the option. I don't think they will but trade him for draft picks and less money (probably $2-3,000,000 back up pay). He still has $125,000 in an escrow acccount. |

1 That was what my last post was referring to Steve. I don't care whether he plays well or plays at all. Only that he is given the oppurtunity to play. He still gets paid reqardless of how well he plays. Thanks for continuing to prove that Vick haters are morons. Keep up the good work! Like the effective petitions and threatened boycots, lmao. |

1 So, if I interpreted the previous post correctly, he is still upside down, but has time to pay those off. Thats fine..my point was, you made it sound like he got that 16 million back...he just didnt have to pay it..he's still broke... I think you also have another flaw in your logic. If he got a contract for roughly 1.5 this year, and did nothing....NOTHING...you think he's going to get 2-3 million next year to be a 31 year old backup QB? So, after not proving anything, he's gonna get MORE MONEY. There is no chance they (the Eagles) pick up his option..no chance...so he will be an unrestricted FA.... Look, I know you joined this discussion late, but let me bring you up to speed...I NEVER SAID HE SHOULDNT PLAY. Never...you can go back in my posts and read that...my point, this entire time, was that he would be terrible, which he always has been, this experiment would fail miserably, they wouldnt pick up his option, and he would be out of the league after this year. This story ends with him playing in the CFL... Every single other predicition I have made has been 100% correct so far. I NEVER said he should be denied the ability to play....I just knew he sucked...and karma is a B****. I hope Vick enjoyed those dogs fights, because he threw his whole life away to do it...thats your idol...wow. |

By the way, Im sorry, but "Vick said he met Mary Wong of Omaha, Neb., in May of 2007 through a former Falcons teammate, Demorrio Williams. " invested some money with her in July of 2007, in the amount of $500,000 and she told me it would be invested in some type of bank investment... What was promised was a 10 percent return. It was never put in writing, but that's what she told me.""
Seriously? How dumb is this guy.... |

"He still gets paid reqardless of how well he plays"
This is also false. In the NFL, contracts are not guaranteed...therefore, they could cut him at any time...Now, I am unsure how much of this year was guaranteed...but they could flat out release him if they wanted, and he would get nothing further... If he was a baseball player, that statement would be correct. |

1 You may have been "100%" correct in the previous guess sessions you have posted but the truth is, he could sit all year and the Eagles would not lose money on MV. They got him cheap, filled some seats, sold some jerseys etc... when the season is over he'll be let go, you were right with this guess. However, his landing spot will not be in the CFL. There are plenty of teams that wanted/needed MV before the season began but none of them could take the PR hit with the exception of the Raiders and they had a huge contract with Jamarcus Sucko. So, sit back and claim to be right about all of the "guessing" you have been doing, your 100% just dropped a bit with the whole CFL comment. |

I suppose all people who are guilty of a crime should never work again? Geeze, we would have about 90% unemployment.
Playing football has nothing to do with his crimes. Vick may be coming to Buffalo! Whoo hooo! |

1 It doesnt take "guessing" to know MV is not a good quarterback...to think otherwise is simply football stupid. Im sorry, he's not good. The numbers are there to support that...then he comes out and says he doesnt want to be a wildcat quarterback...what a friggin POS, dude should be whatever the team needs him to be...ESPECIALLY since he cant pass to save his life. |

someone thought he was a good quarterbck, he signed the largest contract, regardless to how he handled it afterwards. when i say someone i do mean someone who was in the position to back up a 130,000,000.00 contract. in other words someone of importance not someone guessing.

1 As far as Vick's punishment is concerned, I just don't understand why he got 2 years in jail and Stallworth, who killed a guy while he was driving drunk, got like, 30 days and a slap on the wrist. Looking forward to talking to you guys on gameday. I also found this NFL Shop code going on this weekend, figured you guys would be the ones to share it with. It's 20% off everything until Sunday and you use "WILDCAT" when you check out. Share it if you want! Oh and E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLESSSSSSSSSSSSSS! |
