I'm just not on their side this time. Next years cast offs or RM casualties, Carson Palmer, Darren McFadden. We won't be able to compete in 2014

It could happen, but it may be a little difficult to justify will all the dead-cap-money being available next year. I realize your not a big fan of T. Kelly. I thought he had a good year and would not be surprised if the Raiders kept him around. I think Cleveland will learn that Bryant was the recpientent Kelly drawing the attention. Having said that, it seems that LB is not strong in the Draft, hence the FA pick-ups. They must believe there is help in the Draft and Free Agency for D-Line considering they did little to keep their players. And you can't accuse RM of favrotism; he did not try to signe Wheeler or any of them.

The reason Carson Palmer puts up a lot of numbers in "Garbage Time" is because he doesn't quit. He is out there to win every game and doesn't give up in the 4th quarter just because we're losing. And Carson is not the reason we are behind in the 4th quarter.....no running game and terrible defense. When we're down by 2 TD's and the game is over, Carson doesn't hand off tot he RB and protect himself or rest. He keeps the ball and tries to make something happen. He's out there to win every game. That's the kind of leader we need on the team. Palmer is easily a top 10 QB and should be paid like one.

When the Raiders needed cap space last year, Carson was one of the first to step forward and restructure his contract. I won't be surprised if he restructures again this year if the Raiders ask him to.

Freddy, I thought T. Kelly did pretty decent, too. He didn't have the great year that he had a couple seasons ago but he was solid. I wouldn't mind him restructuring his contract and sticking around.

On the other hand......(like you said) the draft has plenty of D-line (and some O-line) so we might be able to replace Kelly.

Also, we still got Bilukidi (however it's spelled) who was decent at times as a rookie and also Jack Crawford (at DE) who might step up his game this season.

You know it's bad when not hearing your name is a good thing. It's not the fact that T. Kelly played bad, it's all the penalties. He had to be neck to neck with whoever we plugged in at the RT spot, Barnes or Smith. All penalty machines. One can make the case that those 3 lost multiple games. This is what I mean by incompetence!

From what i understand kelly can hold his own in a 3-4 line up.. if they find afew more front 7 players t fit the scheme then he'll be very handy next season . I hope they find another solid hb so dmc splits carries and the team doesn't soley rely on him for the run... palmer is over rated we don't need him he's over payed, he's a prime player thats contributed to the teams cap issues and draft pick stock. if another handful of players don't free up salary cap for the team there's no chance the team will be even close to a division championship.

I agree with Zild0405 about Palmer. Hes a True Professional. Hes doesnt give up! My only beef is he throws picks at crucial times .like the Falcons game last season .We were winning it. With a running game he would awesome! Besides I dont want the "bungles" 2 have the last laugh. Palmer is a gunslinger in "The Snake" tradition!

As I've always said,"I'm a Carson Palmer fan & even in that atl game he played phenomenal. That int wasn't his fault as much as the coach. Everybody knows only double moves &9 routes on Asante Samuel. He made a name on jumping short routes & that want a passing situation. A 1 yard run would've sealed the deal. Palmer only did what he was told. The reason I said trade him is because unless they feel like he can get us to the dance it's worthless & not worth 13 mill. Give Pryor a chance & see what he has, then we'll know whether or not to grab a QB next year in the draft or not. Why waste a draft pick when the future QB is already on the roster? That was my point! As I also stated,"I think the whole team it's bring handed a raw deal because the HC was more at fault than the team. DA was horrible last , horrible!

i agree that terrelle pryor needs more playing time. time that probably won't be given to him as long as palmer is here. DA has expressed the "sharing time" or adding "extra plays" for t pryor, but you know that ain't gonna happen that way. once palmer is in there playing, it's hard to sit him for a few plays, it's not going to happen and it's useless! and i also agree that palmer is not going to take us to the promise land. NOT WITH THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING ON AROUND HERE! i definitely prefer carson palmer as the main starter, but we know we are going nowhere this season. OR, for a few more years the way every "new era RAIDER" hopefulls believe. the only way for pryor to get his chance is if palmer is released or traded. then we can get another (qb) in the draft. whether it's geno smith, barkley or any (qb) after that in the draft. i don't think we should go after a (qb) with our first pick but we should pick one later. we ain't going nowhere this season, we know that. we'll save money by releasing palmer. we'll work in terrelle pryor and give him all the chance a (qb) needs. we'll have a draft (qb) as a backup AND, another (qb), a veteran as a third (qb). and continue with what reggie mckenzie and his new regime is doing, rebuilding with youth!
might as will go with the flow! it's all twisted and turned and crooked here with the RAIDERS anyways. but, it's going to get better in the "looooong" run!

I think this year will be make it or break it for Carson Palmer and Darren McFadden. I know McFadden is a free agent next year so he better impress...

it's not that palmer won't make it. or dmac break it. it's just the way the organization is rebuilding. they might as well get rid of the old and continue with the new since we're in it for the looooong haul.

you know palmer wont be here for long BECAUSE OF AGE AND CONTRACT. and neither will dmac because of risky constant injury and contract. why keep them around? they are good players but it's pointless. they can teach but that's about it. and that alone may be costly. go for the rebuilding. it's what they want and what might work

This regime know they stole a year of productivity from dmc. He's still one of the games most explosive rb & he's still young. He can't expect more in a new contract than he's produced on the field so I'm quite sure keeping him won't be too costly. Palmer on the other hand is old & his position along with his production demands big $. It just might be better to part ways nowuse the extra cap money to sign 2 good FA cb . Then draft all positions of need this year. That would fill out our defense do next year we can focus on the offensive side.

I'm just curious to see what this regime is all about. It will take a few years to see that but I really want to see us catch up with the football times

Carson took the blame. I think when you look at that play in Atlanta, D. Moore ran a lousy route. He should have been more to the outside than he was.
