Why does anyone have these dogs??? Guess what, they ARE dangerous. That's why my family and I have never owned one. I am smart enough to realize the danger with these creatures. Are people just that stupid that they don't understand??? WAKE UP STUPID PEOPLE!!!!!!

"Hey Honey! Do me a favor and take 3 kids and a crying baby into my buddy's house and feeds his 3 dogs. I'm sure the dogs won't be upset having all these strangers in their house! By the way, one dog is a pitbull. We know how gentle he is with his owner. It sure will be fun to see how he reacts with the kids and the baby." This woman should have her children taken away from her because she obviously is an idiot!

Is there anything wrong with a Labrador Retriever? A beagle? A mutt? There is NO reason to choose a pit bull, unless you want to Michael Vick your dogs... And then you ought to be in jail.

What I really like is that people that own them always say (after they've attacked someone): "my dog never hurt nobody before!"

OK, I'm playing devil's advocate here... but why would she have found the need to bring her three children with her to go feed and take care of the dogs... especially knowing the size and nature of boxers and bulldogs.

In addition, I heard on the news that dogs were reacting to her baby's crying. Sounds like more of a protective thing than an attack. And after the dogs came onto the lady she ran out the front door and left her other two kids inside with the three dogs... if the dogs were truly attacking would she have left the other kids in there?

To me, it just seems like she took the wrong approach to caring for the dogs. She shouldn't have gotten her kids involved in the first place. If she is a stay-at-home-mom and didn't have babysitting, she should've waited until her spouse had gotten home.

I just hope this isn't an incident where she sees big dollar signs and sues... and if it is, I hope that the situation is seen for what it truly is.

After reading the above comments I have to add another comment. First of all, the dogs were at their home in Noblesville,IN. He was at camp in Terre Haute,IN. Secondly, once again the dogs are being blamed. Yes we all know the reputation that pitbulls have. But ANY dog, no matter WHAT breed, will react in a defensive manner when a stranger is in their home. The owner now knows that he should have taken his PETS to a kennel and had them boarded.

There's just too much info to give here. First of all, this is another example of a dog owner who should not own a pitbull. Obviously, this Colt's player has no conceptual understanding of owning a pitbull with 2 bulldogs. Both breeds are high-octane dogs. As the Dog Whisperer Cesar Milan says, these are "Gladiator" dogs. They require tons of exercise almost every day. Surely, he has the money to provide that exercise!

You don't just leave dogs in the care of someone may not own dogs or has never been around dogs. The article doesn't say whether this woman has been around these dogs before, but apparently, she has not spent enough time with them. And neither has their Colts owner!

Any dog breed should be trained enough to behave around any caretaker. If they're not, you have chaos. This woman did not know how to handle these dogs. Sounds as if she foolishly gave food to just 1 dog, inciting a food fight. Not a good idea! Common sense in a dog pack is that the lead dog gets fed or separate the dogs when feeding them.

The Colts dog owner seems to have omitted any instructions for the woman. Dogs need communication. For bully breeds, a pack leader is super important - it creates stability in the pack and makes dogs feel secure and safe that their leader is in control to protect them, care for them and not misguide them. If they have none, dogs get confused and will fight to assume that role. Result: Chaos and confusion. Sounds like this woman lacked that capability.

Also, sounds like the dogs were not being exercised, which just heightens their aggressiveness. Bully breeds need LOTS of walking, running. As a high-octane dog owner (fostering 1 pitbull) with barely time for myself, I know this is true.

The Colts dog owner should exercise more common sense by either geting a more quiet breed OR providing daily activities for his dogs while he's gone. If he's irresponsible in doing this, he should not have any dogs!

Dave, how do you know they were strangers to the dogs? These people were staying at the Colts players' home. Would he let a stranger into his house and leave town?
Are you saying dogs and kids don't mix? But all the "experts" keep telling us these dogs are harmless, gentle souls. Incidentally, great job blaming the victim. You probably think it's Gleaner's fault their A/C copper pipes were stolen. After all, they shouldn't have had such a nice air conditioner, it was an unfair temptation to those otherwise innocent fellows. Join the idiots list.

Johnson is 6'4" 300 lbs... does he need a pit bull for personal protection?

Park the ego, Charlie. Your sweet pit bull is going to cost you about four games worth of pay.

Keanu, it sounded like she was staying at the house while caring for the dogs. It's called house sitting. Was she supposed to leave her kids? Do you think it is acceptable behavior for a dog to "protect" the baby by attacking the mother? Where do you people come from? Please go back there, or at least keep your feeble intellect where it belongs-watching the Colts and the Simpsons. Please don't breed.
