Boy, those were productive posts. This signing seems to indicate that the TE position is wide open and that Martin is probably average at best. Definitely not going to be a position of strength going into the season.

I feel more confident about the OL than I do about either our TE or secondary positions.

the dolphins suck. its nice to see people here cheer them on even though we never made the playoffs since 03.

mcmichael is 1000x better than anderson is. shouldn't have let mcmichael go

and by the way the jets do suck. sorry to break it to you. they have the sorriest offense.

dolphins > jets = end of story

I think a average route running and receiving TE with the good size of Courtney Anderson who, from what I read, can block well will suffice in this stage of our rebuilding.

Way to go..love your faith and team spirit! You are the type of Dolfan(if in fact you truly are) we true fans wish would simply go away, jump on another bandwagon, and save us the grief of dealing with you.

How is that?
You like the fact that the coach is combing the waiver wires for people released by other teams. You think this coach is more proactive than the rest of them. Look, if you want to see it that way, Saban was combing the wires all the time. In fact, he even signed a big free agent in Culpepper and released Heath Evans who went on to play well for New England and then after Saban released Evans he was combing the waiver wires.

Wonder if Cameron checked to see if this guy comes from a good family and if this new tight end had ever, ever, ever, before been accused of domestic violence, driving while intoxicated, which is the reason that he is now combing the waiver wires. This thing that we have growing here before our eyes is beginning to smell like a 7 year project before this team gets ready to even think of playoff and that is about the time, 7 years, when Brady and Bellichick would have decided that they have had enough of each other.

Now, having said that, I notice that in this article's forum there is a gigantic amount of Jets activity. I want to make it clear that there is nothing more vomit inducing and nauseating that being surrounded and mixed in with Jets fans. That is the slimiest and foulest smell in the world of sport. A JET FAN ....phhhhhhoooooey ... what a smell. It makes me shiver that when I go to the beach, as large as the ocean is, the sea water that touches me might have also touched one of them creatures. There is sea lice and then there is Jet fan lice...and then Jet fan ticks. I am getting nauseated just thinking and talking about it.

Not even at the White House where the slime and smell of putrid corruption of Cheney, Rove and THE DECIDER himself there is the stench that is created by the smell and slime of a Jet fan. Thinking that you might be parked in a traffic light and in the next car over one of the creatures might be there just all twisted up in its own cocoon of Jet fan slime.

The Patriots have made a killing scouring the waiver wire, so what's wrong with that?

There are all sorts of reasons players are cut. Oakland has a new coach who is younger than some of his players and who seems to be purging players who might be perceived to be leaders from the old regime.

The Oakland Tribune analysis put it this way:

"Anderson, a favorite of former coach Norv Turner, provided a big target but was inconsistent."

Turner went to San Diego, so Anderson may have been perceived to be a Norv "leader." If you are a new coach, you want to set up your own team leaders, and Anderson may have been cut to show the team who's the boss.

It sounds to me that we made a decent pickup and it did not cost us a draft choice or big bucks.

Congratulations moron! We've only been in the league for 43 years yet the Jets only gained this advantage what, two or three years ago?

You want to know how Jets fans are so envious of our tradition? They compare their head to head record against the Dolphins, the same team they claim sucks.

I'm a little more proud of our record against the great teams not the bottom dwellers like the Jets have been for most of those 43 years.

Anderson was yet another solid but not spectancular move. we need to do two things this seaon to stand out. we need two proven bulls:
Fix the left guard, negotiate Pete Kendall & solidify the OL. Pay the price. Do It!
Then, bring Ricky back in
September.
He's one of the five best running backs in the NFL.
Just keep him with his therapist on a tight rope. He'll be just fine if he can have some help with his phobias and personal decision making. Drug test him once a week, but let him play. One good season & he's on the trading block.
Do these two things & we'll make a run on a play-off birth these year

Hey genius ...... the league does the drug testing, not the teams !!! Also, a habitual offender such as RW is on the highest number of tests per month allowed under the collective bargaining agreement. When he's reinstated (if ever !!) by the league, he goes on the trading block and if nobody steps up ... he's released. It's no longer a debatable issue, so stop dreaming about it. Were you under the impression that this head coach was about to go to war with the likes of RW? If so .... you have been asleep for a few months. I truly do not believe that it's a slam-dunk that he gets re-instated by the league, this season. Chew on that !!!
