This planet is one big eatery and everything is on the menu. Always has been that way and always will be. Only a total douchemonkey would try to control the diets of the Earth's other inhabitants. Live with reality or relocate to another planet.

The issue is vegetarianism. We should not be too strict about what to eat and what not to eat. Please be guided by your conscience. It is a changing world. We have to change with the world. The capacity of the dharmic religions to not to resist change is the strength of the dharmic religions.

I have a Hindu Indian friend who works for a Oriental/Japanese/Korean/Vietn amese restaurant. He has to work and survive like everybody else. So he eats whatever the oriental restaurant gives him. I have only respect for him. This is what I mean. We have to survive. And speaking of survival, even cannibalism is acceptable. And it happened in 1972 in South America. On 13 October 1972, a plane took off from Montevideo(Uruguay) bound for Santiago(Chile). The plane crashed into frozen snow-capped mountains. The air crash was left with dead passengers and survivors. The survivors ate the dead people for more than 2 months. On 22 December 1972, the cannibalistic survivors of the air crash were finally rescued. This is not fiction. This is the truth and is often termed MIRACLE OF THE ANDES. You can do an Internet search on MIRACLE OF THE ANDES. They have made a movie about this true incident called Alive (1993).

So the question is,“What should we eat?”. The answer is, May each person be guided by his own conscience.

A nice thought but there will always be those delusional miscreants that believe they have some bizarre mission to lord control over the free choices we make. F**K these jerks!

slaughtering of animals must come to a stop. its just not right, i mean come on, how would you like it if you were put onto a convaier belt, having your head exposed and then having a 3 inch bolt going into your head. but you dont die yet, you bleed out for a minute, feeling all the pain, wondering why you are here.

The slaughter of vegetables must come to an end! It is so wrong! Can you imagine being ripped from the vine or yanked out of the ground and sliced into pieces by a long sharp chef's knife, enduring the pain as the life juices drain from your body? Damn evil vegans!!!

As time passes ALL animals will most certainly die, including humans. Life on this planet is neither guaranteed nor promised to anyone or anything. Whether by the fang and claw, the rifle and bow, the bumper and headlight, cold and starvation, or time and illness, every animal on this planet WILL die. As time goes on, the remains of those dead animals WILL be used by other life forms to sustain life anew. Try as you might, you cannot contradict Father Time.

Unfortunately, when given enough propaganda at an early age it becomes very hard to hear what the little cricket is trying to say. Meat is forced down a persons throat from early childhood, no wonder it's so hard for most to clear the notion from their heads that human beings are born omnivores when our biological makeup tells us otherwise.

True, and the way you live your life in that time is extremely important.

Flattery will get you nowhere, Lippy. Unlike you, Adismalife and UAAF, the others posting here have a mind of their own and don't wear a PETA nose ring.

I disagree and so does our biology which confirms that we are omnivores. No amount of pseudo-science can change the facts. You must not have children. Most parents don't "force" anything down the throats of their children. Small children eat what tastes good to them and nothing else. You can try to force them to eat something they don't like but I suggest you dress like you're sitting in the front row at a Gallagher show. I guarantee that food will go everywhere BUT in their stomach. I saw a show about a study that suggests that we develop our tastes in the womb from what mom is eating. For example if mom eats broccoli, baby will probably like broccoli. If mom eats bacon, baby will probably like bacon. If this is true (the evidence is very compelling) our taste for meat has been passed down from generation to generation for thousands and thousands of years. All of history can't be wrong just to suit you.
