Spanish chefs, foods and wine in Beijing, China

I have been writing about the food and beverage scene in Beijing for over five years and we have seen quite a few Spanish restaurants open in the past couple of years. One place in particular, Sanltun, now boasts more than a half dozen spots: Migas, Agua, Niajo, Carmen, Ole and Olas. On tap of that, Migas has been bringing Spanish chefs to Beijing, including Angel El Quim, Carles Tejeda, Pascual, Jean Pierre Castillo, and Carlos Sanllehy. Migas has also organized tours of markets and a slaughterhouse with the chefs. Here is one that I attended to a seafood market in Beijing:

Good to see a growing Spanish food -- and wine, as more and more importers bring in labels -- in Beijing.
