Mexican fisherman who lost treasure faces eviction
Gulf-coast fisherman Raul Hurtado is a local legend, the man who found and lost millions of dollars' worth of Aztec gold almost four decades ago, was tossed in prison, then found peace making $150 a month selling octopus and other seafood from a thatched-roof shack.

Wow!! Great story. What an ironic twist. Even if he knew what they were worth, and could get have gotten them out of the country and sold them, they would still be illegal. You can google and read about things that were sold illegally out of Mexico and then returned later through legal proceedings. He could have spent more time in jail later I am guessing, if he knew their worth, and if he was educated enough to know better. What a temptation that would have been to find a treasure like that and not be able to do anything with it legally. Especially if you were very poor.
Sad about the time he spent in jail. Not right. Sad that he may loose his business.
