Sticky rice as most americans know it as it easy to make. I struggled with it for about 3 years now, but have now mastered it. Make sure you are using a short or med grain rice. I buy mine at the local Japanese Market for about 10-15 bucks for a 20# bag. Rinse it well. I put it into a pot, cover it with water and swoosh it around. Empty water, and do one more time. Put rice into rice cooker, add water and done in about 30 minutes. My wife does not eat rice, so I normally use 1 1/2 cup rice to 2c water.
Now, if you want to make sushi, add a little rice-vinager, mix gently. let cool and roll. |

i cook in rice cooker o.o but u mite have put too much water then it come mushy and wat kind rice u use |

sometimes we have in our pantry the wrong kind of rice to make sushi....
in those time that you are using the wrong kind of rice (non sticky) which it is non sticky because it lacks starch. i recommend you to mix a tablespoon of corn starch to a bit of cold water... add to your already cooked non sticky rice, mix well and put it in the microwave for 6 minutes. then your rice will come out nice and stick to make your sushi. |
