I have done web searches and looked at the Ingles website. I've found nothing about Harvest Farms. I know it's the Ingles brand organic, but more information needs to be on the product label, as well as detailed information on their website. Labels for other brands list the location where the product originated, HF should do the same. I have bought several HF products, but havent' bought anymore, because of the obscurity. Also, what's the difference in HF meat and Ingles brand meat? They are both packaged side by side at the same stores. I don't know, but my thought is they're the same thing - one just has a different label and higher price.

The beef cattle are fed corn the last few weeks to fatten them up. Read "The Omnivore's Dilemma" by Michael Pollan. It is a real eye opener on the organic v. industrial production of food. |
