Food-labeling initiative could encourage lawsuits
Supporters of a ballot proposal to label cereals, sodas and other products containing genetically modified ingredients say their effort is about empowering consumers who deserve to know what's in their food.

It's not about empowering, it's about being able to charge more for your "non-GMO" foods by feeding into a rather stupid scare. Here's a list of common GMO foods:
1. Corn, yellow corn, all of it.
2. Banana, yes, all bananas.
3. Cows, all cows, they are all genetically modified.
I know there's a lot more but those are the three big ones the lay people always forget. We made those foods by genetically modifying existing organisms a long time ago, using a method called breeding. That's why the cow's physiology is such a mess, we didn't know what we were doing, now we do.
