You know that the posters on the old forum would have a field day with this one.

However, it is sad that innocent children will have to go hungry.

Minorities, the elderly and single parents will be hurt the most by this move.
Our society is ruled by greed and a lack of compassion for those less fortunate.
People of Columbus are a good and charitable people for the most part but do you want to see our city's unfortunate victims of greed on the sidewalks begging for handouts? Will that make you feel better?
Shame on those who cut the sustenance for those who go without and suffer.

True, and so far in all the Forums I frequent, I've only seen one thread on the subject, on a music newsgroup of all places:

https://groups.google.com/d/msg/rec.music.dyl...

"The House bill to cut food stamps... what a disgrace... and they have the nerve to call themselves "Christian". Who needs a social safety net? Of course we don't stop funding corporate welfare, or building more high tech weapons... no, we cut funding for the neediest, hungriest citizens, including millions of children... sickening." -Jordy Chase

Nadine, I do not want to see anyone going without a decent meal. But it is a sad thing when those who are able to work refuse to do so, claiming some sort of "disability" (alcoholism is a disability?). And the ones who will be hurt the most are the ones least able to defend themselves.

Elections are coming up soon, and not soon enough.
