i really dont care if the welfare queens dont have extra food stamps to trade for drugs and cigarettes. especially when the sick and elderly cant get food stamps. 22 dollars a month for 2 elderly people, with heart trouble and cancer...is a slap in the face. but let a welfare queen go in there and they give her enough to sell and support the new baby-diddy. so really who cares if a few of the blacks get a cut.they will make up the difference by stealing from stores.

One of the main values for which Jesus Christ lived was helping the poor and needy. He also lived a life helping those that couldn’t help themselves.
Never once is there an account where Jesus asked someone why they needed help, he just helped. After all, was it his place to judge? As much as it might be popular to say,“We’re all born equal”—we’re not.
The circumstances that I’ve overcome in life aren’t equal nor are the abilities within each of us to handle them the exact same way. Some of us are stronger than others and some of us simply face obstacles which we’re not mentally or physically able to overcome.
A family that might have a child with autism overcomes obstacles I can’t imagine because I don’t have a child who has to overcome such adversity. I can’t say to them,“I know how you feel,” because I don’t.
So it’s absolutely ignorant to judge others based upon a notion that,“I did it, so can they.” It’s also naive to judge people based on a minority of people who abuse generosity.
But this is exactly what many Republicans do and the entire Republican party builds their platform on. They’ve perpetuated this myth that,“We’re all created equal”—which is a lie. They’ve also built this idea that the majority of people on welfare are abusing the system—another lie.
Most people who need help, need help. And no, we’re not created equal.
Jesus Christ knew this, which is why he didn’t judge those who needed help. Jesus also spoke out against greed, because greed is really the root of most of the world’s problems. The desire for excess often comes at the expense of those who can’t fight for themselves.
Even during “Biblical times” they had the two-percenters. Those who had everything, building it on the backs of those who had very little. This is something Jesus Christ stood against.
So you’d think a party which claims to be the party of “Christian values” would rise against greed and embrace humanity. But they don’t. They base their “Christianity” on church attendance and fierce opposition to abortion and same-sex marriage.
Greed has nothing to do with wealth!! Nothing!! I know wealthy people who isn't greedy all they've worked hard and things went their way!! Most people I know on welfare is the greediest people ever and most are lazy!! If you work and live within your means you'll do good!! Democrats are ruining America with liberal immoral ideas designed to get votes from lazy worthless people!! I'm not practicing Christian but I know the bible and Jesus wouldn't be a Democrat !!

Get a real life! Republicans are trying to get the budget under control. You may live off the government for a reason; lazy or can not find a job that could go back to lazy and do not want to find the job. The Dems are to liberal, baby killers that believe in aboration, and the list continues. There are people in life that born without common sense and not well educated. You show both through your spelling and thinking.Your spelling and thinking will never clear a path for your future. Try to improve and move on. Make your family proud or if they are like you set an example. Good luck.

Cutting benefits is not the right thing to do. Many children will go to bed hungry now.

Greens said that, while the budget reduction in the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) was unlikely to survive the Senate and a White House veto, the demand for food stamp cuts may result in bipartisan compromises between Congress and the Obama Administration that reduce assistance for America's neediest.
"The vote by the House to cut $40 billion in SNAP funding is a sad day for America. While we can be heartened by the fact that such cuts will never be approved by the Senate or the President, it is still immoral that in a country as rich as the U.S. so many elected officials are willing to take food away from vulnerable citizens at a time of high unemployment and poverty, especially among children and senior citizens," said Mark Dunlea of the Hunger Action Network of New York State and a member of the Executive Committee of the Green Party of New York.
"Over the last 30 years we have witnessed a radical transfer of wealth and income from average Americans to the very rich. The needs of the many should not be sacrificed to the greed of the few," added Mr. Dunlea.(See Mark Dunlea's article "House Republicans Using the Farm Bill to Attack Hungry Americans," Aug. 28, http://www.opednews.com/articles/House-Republ... )
Greens said that current poverty rates and the sustained assault on the social safety net are part of larger trend that includes opposition to living-wage legislation at a time when new jobs are paying poverty-level wages, skyrocketing medical costs and lack of health coverage (for which Obamacare provides inadequate remedies), support for slashing Social Security, and erosion of the middle class. Bipartisan austerity measures and sequestration have shifted the burden for economic recovery onto working people and the poor, and away from the financial sector, whose criminal recklessness triggered the 2008 meltdown.
Green candidates have promoted the Green New Deal, a plan to put Americans back to work through programs that create millions of jobs in new technologies, conservation, and other efforts to solve the global climate crisis ( http://www.jillstein.org/green_new_deal ). The Green New Deal would strengthen the social safety net and expand Medicare to cover all Americans.
"We call it a crisis when 16% of Americans, most of them children, depend on public assistance to survive, even when family members work at full-time or multiple jobs. The Green New Deal is the only plan that addresses this crisis. The obstacle to ideas like the Green New Deal is a political establishment dominated by Democrats and Republicans who act as a front for powerful corporations and the wealthy who don't want to pay their fair share to maintain a country that's prosperous for everyone," said Drew Langdon, Green candidate for City Council in Rochester, New York ( http://www.greenrochester.org/drewlangdon ).

Save your guilt trip. There is nobody to blame but the parents of those children, if they go to bed hungry. It is the parent's responsibility to provide for their children.
