Is chiropractic care right for you?

Jan 26, 2012 Full story: Examiner.com 40

Some people become a little cynical when a Chiropractor recommends regular or multiple office visits in order to resolve an issue or to maintain good spinal health though no one really thinks twice when their dentist recommends regular visits and they don't often find it peculiar when an optometrist suggests them.

How many times to you get braces checked? How many times do you go to a physical therapist?
Can you work out once a month and get great muscle building results?

Yet people still want a chiropractor to "fix" their pain in one visit.

It takes time.. there is a limitation of matter.

Comparing chiroquackers who click spines with activator devices to a legitimate profession like dentistry is quite stupid.

Like I said, these quacks will try to rope you into needless expensive lifetime care.

Glad to see the quacker BDC is still around. He conveniently fails to renounce all the bizarre claims made by his fellow quackers here on "topix".

Just in the last few days his colleagues have claimed that they can cure deep wounds, adhd, eczema and epilepsy.

Like I said, it doesn't matter how outrageous the claim is, these quacks are all alike.

But BDC is a hit and run quack. Make some silly claim that he can straighten spines by pushing on the back. Claiming to cure things like scoliosis ..... Beyond stupid. Typical.

Yet another jealous loser chimes in. Maybe you're making $8 an hour asking,'should I leave room for cream?' But I can buy and sell you with what I've got in my back pocket.
Chiropractic is the best profession there is. I would recommend it to anyone who has he desire to help people and who want to make a great living at it. I net well into the six figures a year. Some chiropractors in my area make more than that--a lot more.
I can't help it if 'carpdiem' is a jealous loser. It gives me that warm, fuzzy feeling that he's ever so jealous of me!
Oh, I almost forgot, no cream, just one packet of sugar,'carp', and make it quick.

Oh please, I make over $100k a year sitting on my ass. No college required or greasing up patients and milking insurance companies.

Enjoy those student loans quack. Most knowledgable people use a physical therapist. Only losers chase ambulances.

Grilled out marinated ribeyes enjoying the sunshine while you are chasing the next car accident.

Such is life.

The quack chiropractor BDC above claimed that he can straighten spines. How utterly stupid and without merit.

But he's a chiropractor after all.

True. It's all an insurance scam! Big time. Biggest tactic- fear mongering. When a family member came to me considering going off some necessary medications because a quack told her they were essentially poison, I couldn't believe the audacity of this crew to even consider doling out medical advice. He even went as far as to ask her to change deodorants because he didn't agree with an ingredient in her current brand. Get serious.

They cannot write prescriptions ( over the counter Ben gay doesn't count) and do absolutely nothing to help people. A back rub does absolutely nothing for long term problems.

See a real doctor. These people are charlatans of the worst kind. At the very least they will milk you out of money. Worst -you could lose your life by not getting real medical help.

The offices are a front to peddle stupid gadgets they are taught to invent in school. Maybe to help pay off their massive student loans, I don't know.

Hey quack! I cooked out again today and then went to the sporting goods store and bought North Face camping equipment. What did you do? Grease and crack some backs?

Don't forget to instill fear in granny next time you see her and tell her she will be paralyzed if she does come back in so you can 'adjust' her and milk her insurance company!

Keep paying Sallie Mar the hundreds of thousands you owe them slave!!!

What a joke. Dr my @ss

How's that 'medical' degree working out for you 'doc'? Bet you make the staff all refer to you as 'doctor _____' in the office in front of 'patients aka victims'. This made up profession is such a joke.

People, go to a real MD. These Chiros aren't educated enough to work in a drug testing lab for corrections.

Even after all the medicine bashing from chiropractors, they still seek them out when they are sick. Except the bashing stops when they see their MD.

Ciropractors are big on having their patients call them Dr.(first name). You know, wanting them to think they are more friendly than their MD.

Oh yes. This grandiosity is a real problem with Chiros. What they don't tell you is how much student debt they have and struggle to pay off.$100k + if they went to life university.

They have real problems finding and keeping patients which explains the ambulance chasing. These folks are essentially conartists.

Insisting that an office manager refer to you as dr mike is nonsense. If you must have your ego fed that many times a day, you should really work on your self esteem.

It's quite sad that this profession has evolved the way that it has. An hour Lon massage will essentially do the same thing.

You ask them. 9/10ths of their customers have been in car accidents. Although I doubt they will admit is stating patient confidentiality.

They have sallie Mae to feed.

Is getting a bill for $75 and some worthless ointment worth it?

Get about 5 pillows and prop up on the couch for a few days. It will heal.

Unless of course you are claiming to be a car accident victim, who just happens to have an open lawsuit against the other drivers insurance company. Then, by all means.

I have to agree with 'depends'.
I don't care how much they pay, I will never accept a personal injury case ever again. I used to see tons of PI patients and I made a lot of money. I got wise to their games--including the games their lawyer's played.
MD's, PT's, and chiropractors all see their share of bogus PI cases. I could be making an additional two hundred thousand a year seeing PI cases. They're easy to get. Who needs them?
I have a thriving cash practice with very low fees and I couldn't be happier. In fact, if a patient can't afford my fees, I treat them for free.
Like everyone, I have financial obligations, but if I could practice chiropractic for free for everyone, I would. It's a ton of fun helping people.
